While inspecting a mysterious weapon on a distant planet, Carter is inexplicably knocked unconscious. She is taken back to the SGC, leaving another team to investigate the aspects of the weapon.
Carter finds that an ascended Ancient, Orlin, has followed her back to Earth. At first, she thinks he is imaginary, but then Orlin takes on a real human form to interact with her. He tells her testing the weapon will destroy the planet, and should not be tested.
However, other forces now know of Orlin, and are watching Carter’s every move. Things come to a head as Carter tries to stop the test firing of the weapon, and the secret governmental group’s attempt to capture Orlin.

Episode Quotes |
| |
Colonel Simmons: Need I remind you, Dr. Jackson, the dangers we're trying to defend Earth against?
Daniel: (sarcastically) Oh, could you? I mean, uh, go slow. | Daniel: It looks like that thing on 626 is a weapon.
Jack: I was right?
Teal'c: It is a weapon of great power, O'Neal.
Jack: Big and honkin'? | Orlin: This one (stargate) won't dial multiple addresses. It'll only create a wormhole once and then probably burn out.
Sam: And you ordered the materials online?
Orlin: Mostly. Sorry, but you're going to have a pretty big credit card bill this month. Oh, and you're going to need a new toaster. | Sam: Tense? Me? I'm not tense, am I? When did you first notice?
Jack: As we met. | (discussing their downtime plans)
Jack: So .. Now what?
Teal'c: I have heard of a place where humans do battle in a ring of Jello.
Jack: (tosses him the mobile phone) Call Daniel. | (Upon Jack and Teal’c arriving unannounced at Carter’s house)
Jack: We brought pizza and a movie. Star Wars. He's seen it... eight times?
Teal'c: Nine times.
Jack: If Teal'c likes it, it's gotta be worth watching.
Sam: What? You've never seen Star Wars?
Jack: Well, you know me and sci-fi... |

Episode Goofs |
| |
Jack says he has never seen Star Wars, but in the episode "1969", when they are captured, he identifies himself to his interrogator as "Luke Skywalker". (Editor's note - you don't have to have seen the movie to know about the character and know he has something to do with science fiction, though) | In this episode, General Hammond's skill badges were reversed. The Command Pilot wings were below the Space and Missile badge but in almost all the other episodes, the pilot wings are on top. | After Carter closes the door on O'Neill and Teal'c, she sets the pizza down and opens the door where Orlin is hiding. For one brief moment, you can see someone standing at the outside window of the room looking in from the porch. I believe it is probably Christopher Judge but the image is pretty fleeting. |

Analysis |

Col. Reynolds
This episode marks the first appearance of Col. Reynolds since the season 2 episode "Touchstone". In that episode, he identified himself as a member of the NID. Now he has been transfered to the SGC and given command of SG-15. However, given his past history with the NID, it seems highly unlikely that General Hammond would have permitted Reynolds to command an SG team. |
