Ok everybody. This is the one you've all been waiting for. The master "unanswered questions of Stargate" list that I have been promising. This is also posted on the Atlantis guide as it contains some Atlantis questions as well.
Also, I would like this thread pinned if possible.
1. Can an EMP (Electromagnetic pluse) stop Drones?
2. How do drones tunnel through solids?
3. Why was the EM field of M7G-677 (Childhood's End) able to shut down the jumper
and such but the EMP in "Hot Zone" not able to affect the Atlantean systems? Are there differences between a pulse and a field?
4. The gate sends matter only in discreet units according the "38 minutes" when the Jumper was stuck in the gate so how in "Torment of Tantalus" was Earnest able to go through the gate with the tether still attached to his suit?
5. Can ZPM's be recharged?
6. What about the other 3 ZPM planets in Old Weir's note? (Dagan's ZPM was stolen from the team and the other planet is the nearly depleted one on M7G-677 which powers the EM field.
8. Can te drones penetrate Ori shields?
9. Why didn't wasn't the Ori ship weapons as strong as the Ori satalite weapon in orbit above Tegalus? (Prometheus couldn't take one but the Oddyssey and Korolev took several hits)
10. Are the Earth ships Asgard strength shields low-end Asgard shields or is it a matter of powering them?
11. Why doesn't Earth take weapons from Ha'taks and Alkesh instead of using railguns all the time?
12. Why didn't the Wraith decide to check out the Tower since they seem to be obsessed with wiping out the Ancients? Why just not go there anymore?
13. Why not wipe out M7G-677 or just investigate it by the Wraith? Why do they leave some tech alone and destroy others?
14. What ever happend to Sgt. Bates?
15. What was the beam being emitted at the planet in "Letters from Pegasus" about? I suspect it was a planet tag as in a later ep they mention something about marking planets by the Wraith.
16, Where did the Ori get the gate addresses to the Milky way from?
17. Do the priors congregate at a central hub or what? They always go somewhere after saying their "Believe in the Ori" stuff but it's never mentioned where.
18. What will happen with the Unas?
19. Why don't they make more Khaleks, have them Ascend to fight the Ori?
20. What about Camulus's tainted ZPM from "Zero Hour"?
21. Why didn't they ever send a ship to P3X-972 (Meeting planet that Earnest Littlefield was sent to?) and check out if anything remained or if there were ZPM's somewhere else on the planet?
22. Was P9G-844 (Sodan planet) shielded from scans? They sent Prometheus to scan for life signs and found nothing.
23. Why don't they "clone" drones and such via the transporter systems? All they do is scan a drone's molecular structure then beam up a big rock or something and remap it to match a drone's structure and poof! More drones.
24. Will the Anti-Ori weapon even do anything? Why would the followers and ships believe the Ori were gone?
25. What about the Oannes on P3X-866 (Fire and Water)? Why no further talks about them?
26. What ever happend to Cassandra?
28. What about P3X-989 (Harlan and robot SG-1 planet) with the Ori threat?
29: What about the Organisms of the Orb? Can they fight the Ori (Message in a Bottle) since they seem to kill living matter by infecting it with that disease?
30: Can the Bane bugs (BP6-3Q1) hurt Priors or the Ori?
31: Can the Salish spritits fight the Ori?
32: What about the Reetou? Can they fight the Ori? Esp. since they invisible.
33. What ever happend to Aris Boch?
34. What ever happend with the Foothold aliens?
35. What ever happend with the Reol (The Fifth Man)?
36. What will happen to Langara/Kelowna? Will they be suckered into believing in the Ori like Tegalus?
37. Why were no more Prometheus class ships built?
38: Was Anubis basically an Ori?
39: Where did the covers for the ZPM power room in Atlantis come from for the empty ZPM chambers? If you look, there are these triangular covers over the emtpy ZPM chambers that weren't there before back when all 3 ZPM's were in Atlantis. Just watch any season 2 ep that McKay pulls the ZPM out and you'll see and watch "Before I sleep" near the end when Janus changes the ZPM powering sequence, there are no covers presnet.
40. How many jumpers do they have? The Genii estimate of 10 may have been wrong since they got more recently.
41. Why no Cloaking device on The Prometheus or Daedalus class ships?
42. Didn't the Asgard install weapons on Prometheus? They mentioned installing shields and weapons on it at the end of "Disclosure".
43. Did Jack really see elements of Joe Spencer's life?
44. Why are there so many races that worship the Ancients? It's Ironic considering that the Ori are another race of Ancients that demand worship?
45. Can a Wraith Ascend?
46. Can someone be "un-priored"? IE: reverted to normal via that genetic machine of Anubis? |

4. My only guess is that it's a safety mechanism. Theoretically, if a thread on someone's pants got caught on the ramp as they entered the gate, they'd never enter the wormhole and would die.
12. I think they said in the episode that the planet was protected by the drones.
14. He was sent back to Earth to recover.
24. That fire thing on Celestias would go out, and no more Priors could be created.
26. She's in college.
38. No.
43. Yes.
46. Most likely (should happen next season). |

12. Yes but not anymore. Remember they took the remaining drones and from what was stated in "Allies", the amount of drones they had left was only about half the amount needed to destroy a hive so why not send a couple of hives to that planet?
14. That's what I thought but I guess they didn't bring him back because he was an a**
43. I thought he did but why did Sam tell him he didn't?

1. We won’t know till an event occurs. This is in the hands of the Writers, and not something in the scientific world.
2. Which episode shows drones tunneling? In every case I can think of, the drones came out existing holes.
4. I think we need to take Torment of Tantalus as a segway from canon. It was one of many diversions from canon.
5. Another question that has no scientific answer. We won’t know till the Writers state the reality that exists in the SG world.
6. Other teams have been searching for them, other than Sheppard’s team. This was stated in one of the SGA episodes. I’m sure if they find one, it will be Sheppard’s team, and not one of the other teams.
8. Writers' discretion (I hope this doesn't become a common answer).
Wow, only 35, or so, questions left to go though! Just kidding Faris This is a good thread. |

I just watched “Citizen Joe,” and yes, Jack did see Joe’s life for seven years, but he found them too comforting to comment on. Carter’s comment that Jack didn’t see Joe’s thoughts were, well, off target. |

1. Well, since most of the stuff is based on real science, I figured we could have at it.
2. Watch "The Tower" when McKay is trapped with that guy in aux. control he uses the drone to make a nice, smooth tunnel to the surface to use his radio, remember?
Ok, thanks for the compliment. I am also working on another project that I'll post later.
Thanks,
Faris,

Well or I've submitted (it's not accepted as I submit this post) the quote to the ep 8x15 Citizen Joe that explains what you probably interpreted wrong
Sam merly said he didn't ever tell anyone about it.

Tunneling usually describses sth goes through w/o leaving a mark whatsoever.
The tunneling you mean is inherit to the Drones . They use that also to destroy ships or anything else. They disintegrate the matter they are flying along. Well how that works: Science Fiction!

Indeed, there is no scientific approach in that. You can't use zero point energy in the first place, well or the quantum ruels as we know it are totally bogus
Science Fiction!
9. They don't need to. Easy Answer. Powerful weapons or shields need a lot of energy. Basic economics tell: Make it good enough to fulfill the target, but as economical as possible
Well and it would spoil any fun.
10. Ask the writers, there is no way of knowing that yet.
11. Why would they do if those were as effective or better? I suppose they just are. Else it wouldn't make much sence indeed.

Why would they probe a target again where they could suffer big casulties?
Ok enough for now. I'll be back! |

Ok, i thought of another question.
Can Asgard ascend?
That'll be sweet, the Ancients' rules will have no influence if that happens because they are not Ancient and therefore the Ancients can't tell them what they can or can't do. |

I think the short answer is that the Asgard are emotionless. In SGA’s “Epiphany” I think we see there are human emotions that must be realized before ascendancy can be achieved. Being a clone race can’t help much, either.
However, it’s a great question. |

Yeah, but i think that maybe Anubis didn't realize those emotions. And probably neither did the Ori, otherwise they would've been good |

Ok, I never thought I'd have to mention this but in the FUTURE, please DO NOT say "it's scifi!" as your answer as the purpose of this is to engage in thinking about real world possibilities of this stuff. Plus, even though CURRENT science disproves zero point energy's usefulness, it doesn't mean in 50 years they won't say that it's useable then.

Also in 50, 500, or even 5000 years scientists can't change the laws of physics. The good thing on physic laws is that they are universal thus apply everywhere anytime |

Not if you try to extract zero point energy from the vacuum of our universe and flood the universe with exotic particles |

Maybe ZPM could become viable once we learn the universal overall connecting law of physics. There are certain laws that have yet to be obtained. |
