Still Game

Still Game

Jack and Victor have grown up together and here they are now, two cantankerous old men railing against the inequities of modern life. They live across a landing from one another, and most days can be found hatching mischief or becoming involved in somebody else's business. They know each other so well they can finish each other's sentences but that doesn't mean there isn't the occasional flash of antagonism between them, for age old differences die hard.

Jack and Victor have broken out of Chewin' The Fat and now have their own series on BBC One Scotland. These Glaswegian patter merchants may be long in the tooth but they're Still Game for all kinds of carry-ons. This is certainly the best comedy to come out of Scotland for a long while, a slightly Scottish version of "last of the summer wine" but a bit nearer the knuckle. It took the BBC a few years before putting it on nationwide due to regional accents but a part from a few sayings its not difficult to follow. Read more
