Breaking the Fourth Wall

Wilson White: Well this seems to me like a good time for a break.
Although the quote can be taken literally in the show after he realizes the overwhelming number of people who want him to be fired, the show actually goes to a commercial break after he says this, thus, breaking the fourth wall.

Episode Quotes

Jack: Ted, believe me, I wish this was a fight for ethics. I wish this was a conversation about the integrity of the news. But it's not. It's about preventing ourselves from being a laughingstock.
Atkins: Well, I don't feel like a laughingstock.
Jack: That's only because you're a moron.
(pause)
Atkins: Wilson, you're backing up what he said?
Wilson: Yes, including and especially your being a moron.

Hallie: He got your order wrong.
Jordan: No, this is what I eat while I'm waiting for the food.

Jordan: Danny, you shouldn't be in the studio alone.
Danny: Matt's here.
Jordan: Matt's there because with Harriet gone, it's like someone moved his food dish.

Cultural References

Matt: You guys heard of a book called "The 48 Laws of Power"?

The 48 Laws of Power is a 1998 book by author Robert Green.
