Bio: Volcana is a pyrokinestic, capable of creating and controling fire with her mind.
At a very young age, Claire Selton manifested the unusual ability of pyrokinesis, the capacity to create fires at will. When she reached adolescence, Claire was sent to Metropolis's Center for Paranormal Studies, an institute that took paranormal children outcast by society. However, before she could fully develop her powers, she was abducted by government agents. They stripped away her past and tried to turn her into a living weapon dubbed Volcana. Volcana eventually escaped the government clutches and started to sell her services out as an arsonist thief.
During two years, she managed to dodge Kurt, the agent in charge of Project Firestorm, but he eventually tracked her down. He planned to sell Volcana to a foreign government that wanted to study her. When Superman stepped in, Volcana broke free of the tank restraining her, and went after Kurt. However, Superman thwarted her in time. Volcana was offered a chance to stay free on a deserted island ever since she renounced her criminal life. She accepted the deal, but her reformation was short-lived, because shortly after she ran afoul of Supergirl on Metropolis. Volcana is also very flirtatious and hot-tempered, so to speak. |
