Professor Emil Hamilton, voiced by Victor Brandt
History: Professor Emil Hamilton is a scientist working on S.T.A.R. Labs. He analyzed a piece of kryptonite for Superman and also coined the name of the stone. He also discovered that its radiation could be shielded by lead. So, he built Superman a special anti-kryptonite exoskeleton super-suit to protect him from its effects. Additionally, Professor Hamilton also built Superman a space suit and a swim suit.
He also modified the rocket in which Superman came to Earth and refitted it to space travel. Professor Hamilton was the first person Superman ever brought to his Arctic hideaway, and he even coined its name… Fortress of Solitude.
Professor Hamilton was one of the few human beings on whom Superman fully trusted. He always assisted Superman in any situation he could help out, which granted him a spot on Superman’s restricted group of intimate friends.
However, when Superman was brainwashed by Darkseid and ran amok on Metropolis, the Professor’s trust in the Man of Steel was shaken. Furthermore, when Supergirl got hurt and Superman menacingly demanded the Professor to save her, Hamilton, for the first time, was afraid of Superman, and realized how fragile and defenseless the human race is from him. This incident deeply damaged Professor Hamilton’s confidence in Superman and had severe consequences in future events. |
