Baby Kal-El plummets to Earth and is taken in by Martha and Jonathan Kent. There – in Smallville, Kansas – he is raised as their own; yet, when he reaches his teens, he begins to exhibit phenomenal abilities unknown to human beings. At that time, his parents decide to tell Clark the truth about his origins. Confronted with initial feelings of anger and confusion, it isn't too long before they are replaced by acceptance and excitement. Young Clark Kent is set to become Superman!

Episode Notes |
| |
An element taken from Byrne's "Man Of Steel" miniseries is the plane. In the miniseries, Clark's first public feat was catching a falling spaceplane (similar to the one seen in "The Prometheon". However, in the comics, he had not yet taken the "Superman" persona and caught the spaceplane in civvies. The public enthusiasm is what inspired the creation of the Superman persona so he could have a private life. |

Episode Quotes |
| |
Jonathan: Put that thing back, you don't know where it came from.
Martha: He's not a thing, Jonathan, he's a baby. A little baby. Who'd put a baby in a spaceship.
Jonathan: That's just my point. It could be Russian, a Sputnik maybe.
Martha: Oh really.
Jonathan: Maybe he's one of ours. You think NASA is missing a kid? | Lana Lang: You're saying you can see through walls? So, how many times have you peeked into the girls locker-room? |
