Fashion designer, Lana Lang – young Clark's high school heartthrob – is in Metropolis to promote her new line. When she makes her entrance, Clark is shocked to discover she's on the arm of Lex Luthor; unfortunately for Lana, where there's Lex, trouble isn't too far behind. Luckily, Superman catches wind of the pernicious deeds and leaps into action.

|
| Lois just has a minor role in this episode, appearing only in the beginning and in the end. | Lana Lang appeared briefly in "The Last Son of Krypton, Part II" when she and Clark were teenagers. | Central City is 500 miles away from Metropolis. |
| |
| Lois: (about a runway model) Look at that. Tss. The only thing holding that dress up is fake. | Reporter: Lana, are the jewels real?
Lana Lang: Everything is real, boys... | Clark: What's Lana doing with a guy like Luthor?
Lois: You know her?
Clark: We... used to date.
Lois: Get out!
Clark: In Highschool...
Lois: She's certainly come up in the world.
(Clark stares)
Lois: From Smallville, I mean... | Lana Lang: Hmm. Red, blue, yellow. Primaries, but it works in a superheroish kind of way. Let me guess, Martha sewn it for you.
Superman: What?!
Lana Lang: By the way, Clark, how are the folks? | Lana Lang: He wanted to be sure I was alright. And warn me about you. He said you are a bad boy...
Lex Luthor: And what did you say?
Lana Lang: I said I liked bad boys... | Mercy: I'm telling you she heard everything. Maybe I should take her for a nice little "ride."
Lex Luthor: NO! | Terrorist: I think it's deer season.
Superman: Sorry, it's only open season on terrorists. | Lana Lang: Where's Mercy?
Mr. Eelan: Sorry, no mercy tonight. | Lana Lang: Clark Kent, I swear, if you say I'm like a sister to you, I'm going back to Lex. |

| How can boiling lead not burn Superman's cape? As part if his powers, Superman has a one millimeter aura that protects him. Martha had noticed this when he was growing up, which is why she made the uniform skin-tight - his powers would protect it. However that doesn't explain how his cape survived. |

| Title: My Girl
This title is taken from the homonymous song by The Temptations. | Superman (1978)
The scene where Superman keeps the train from falling off the tracks seems like an homage to the similar scene from the 1978's movie Superman. |
| |
| Lana Lang: The reason you haven't been able to find the merchandise in Metropolis is: it isn't in Metropolis - it's on Central City.
Just like Metropolis and Gotham City, Central City only exists in the DC Comics world. It's the hometown of The Flash, who will make and appearance in "Speed Demons." |
