The Joker is tired of dealing with Batman, so he has stolen a statue made of solid kryptonite and makes a proposition to Lex Luthor: allow him to kill Superman in exchange for one billion dollars. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne has a scheduled business deal with Lex Luthor, though when he arrives in Metropolis, he falls in love with Lois Lane.

| Superman: I hope I didn't shake you and the others up too bad.
Lois: I have to say... I've gotten used to it.
| Harley Quinn: (to Lex Luthor) Swell, Mr. L.
| The Joker: (to Lex Luthor) I sense we are kindred spirits, you and I. Although there are differences to be sure, like hair.
| Lex Luthor: What makes you think you can kill Superman when you can't even handle a mere mortal in a Halloween costume?
The Joker: There's nothing mere about that mortal!
| The Joker: Ceasar Carlini, my old pal! Why I haven't seen you since... Wait, I've never seen you, have I? You need to get out more.
| Bruce Wayne: So he just appears when there's trouble? No special signal?
Lois: He's not like your Batman – thank goodness!
Bruce Wayne: Then how do you contact him?
Lois: Committing a felony helps. Listen, you seem awfully interested in Superman. Do you what me to fix you two up?
| Batman: Where's the Joker?
Binko: Who knows? Making 'ha-ha' with Harley Quinn.
| Superman: (to Batman) I heard you were crazy, I didn't think you were stupid.

| The Joker: Oh, you'll be Mr. Clean!
After Luthor says he can't be connected with the Joker's dirty business in any way, the Joker reassures him and at the same time makes a joke about Luther's appearance, referring to the bald man on the cleaning products from Procter & Gamble.

Superman: (to Batman) I heard you were crazy, I didn't think you were stupid.
This is a reference to the time Martha Kent told Clark she didn't want anyone thinking he was like that "nut" in Gotham City.
