Episode Notes
This marks the first time that Superman's uniform is torn apart.

This episode is dedicated to the memory of Jack Kirby (1917-1994). The dedication appears at the end of the episode:

"This episode is dedicated to the memory of Jack Kirby / Long Live The King".

Also, at the end, many other members of the New Gods are visible in the background when Orion shows up, such as Big Barda, Metron, Lightray, Black Racer, Mister Miracle and Forager, which he co-created.

This episode marks the death of Dan Turpin. His gravestone reads:

"Daniel Turpin
Earth's Greatest
Hero".

Originally, Bruce Timm and Paul Dini intended to have Ma and Pa Kent killed, but DC comics said they would have to bring them back, so they opted for other character.

Episode Quotes
