Episode Quotes

Superman: What do you mean "Batman missing"?
Roxy Rocket: I thought you'd know. Don't all you spandex boys have club meetings or something?

Superman: Where's your boss?
Robin: Around.
Superman: Okay, let's try this another way. Where's Bruce?

Superman: All this sneaking around isn't exactly my style.
Robin: What do you mean? It's the half the fun!

(After seeing Bruce Wayne's vid-mail to Lucius Fox)
Robin: See what I mean about him acting strange?... He's smiling!!

Robin: He's really being controlled by aliens? (in disgust) Baaahhhh.
Superman: I'm deeply hurt!

Superman: (posing as Batman) You got into Wayne's computer during his partnership with LexCorp.
Brainiac: Yes.
Superman: You saw that his company could build you a rocket so you took control of Bruce Wayne and had him authorize the project.
Brainiac: You're every bit the detective that your followers on the Internet believe.

Superman: (to Batman) I have to say for a guy who's supposed to be such a loner, you sure know how to pick a partner.

Cultural References

Roxy Rocket: Don't all you spandex boys have club meetings or something?

This is an in-joke referring to the Super Friends, an animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera which ran from 1973 to 1985. It was something like and adaptation of the Justice League comic to television featuring Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and other sidekicks such as the Wonder Twins. The Super Friends' headquarter was the Hall of Justice which was also a place for meetings.

Mad Hatter: Curiouser and curiouser!

This line is uttered by Alice in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

Bane: I fear you were gone forever, Batman. And that would have meant I'd never feel your spine crumble in my hands.

In the comic series Knightfall, Bane succeeded in breaking Batman's spine and forced him to retire for a short period of time.

Superman posing as Batman

In 1974, in the comic Superman, issue 279, Superman had to pose as Batman at a charity convention. Batman was out to stop oil smugglers, and he knew they had a look-out at the convention to make sure he was away. So he had Superman pose as him, and Batman went to stop the smugglers.
