  Episode Quotes
Superman: Just happened to be in the neighbourhood?
Batman: Do you have any idea who they are? The Society of Shadows. I've been trailing them for weeks, hoping they'd lead me to Ra's Al Ghul.
Superman: Who?
Batman: A criminal Mastermind. More dangerous than the Joker and Luthor put together.
Superman: All I know is they were breaking the law in my town!
Batman: Leave it to you to charge in with both arms swinging.

Superman: If you were going to operate in Metropolis, you should've filled me in.
Batman: Next time I'll fax my itinerary.

Batman: You said the only thing they took was the Shaman's staff?
Superman: Yes. It's one of the least valuable items. According to Professor Blackwing, it's supposed to have mystique healing powers. Maybe your Mastermind isn't feeling well.
Batman: He's usually in pretty good shape for a guy his age.

Lois: Another day, another Pulitzer...

Ra's Al Ghul: Old age, Superman, it truly is a shipwrecked. One that I have survived more times than I can remember.

Batman: What happened here?
Lois: I'm not sure. Someone attacked me. A woman dressed in black.
Batman: Talia.
Lois: Talia? On a first name basis, are we?

Lois: What do you think she was after?
Batman: Your clothes.
Lois: Excuse me?
Batman: She needed to impersonate you to attract Superman.
Lois: Hah! She's gonna need more than that! Maybe my clothes in a nuclear disaster...

Lois: And I just had it shampooed! Do you know how depressing it is to have to clean up after your assailant?
Batman: I'm sorry.
Lois: Forget it. A little detergent and elbow grease...
Batman: I mean that we're meeting like this.
Lois: Hey I was the one who say goodbye. Though I can't say I haven't had second thoughts. Actually there's been several times when I almost picked up the phone. Maybe you felt the same-- (turns around and realizes Batman got out from the window) way. I gotta get better locks!

Ra's Al Ghul: You are foolish to have come here, detective. Give me the staff!
Batman: I think you've had your workout for today.

Superman: I'm guessing you and that woman Talia had some history.
Batman: Pretty much in line with all my other relationships.

Batman: I have to admit is it was clever using Ra's's devotion to his daughter to stop 'em.
Superman: Well, I thought as long as I couldn't charge him with my both arms swinging, I better use my head. You know, there might be something to this partnership business after all.
Batman: (smiles) Yeah, right...

  Cultural References
Ra's Al Ghul: For centuries I've kept myself alive by immersing my body in Lazarus's Pits.

In the New Testament, Lazarus was the brother of Mary and Martha of Bethany. John 11 and 12 contains the telling of Jesus Christ's resurrecting Lazarus after four days in the tomb.
