Supernatural: Pilot
Sam, a soon-to-be college graduate, has an interview set up to attend one of the most prestigious law schools in the country. His brother Dean, whom he has not seen in several years, unexpectedly shows up in the middle of the night to tell him that their father went missing while on a hunting trip. Leaving his girlfriend behind to find their dad, Sam joins Dean in order to find their father in Jericho, a small town where unmarried men have disappeared without a trace.

Fans of the show Gilmore Girls found it confusing that Jensen Ackles' character is named Dean and Jared Padalecki's character is named Sam. In Gilmore Girls, Jared Padalecki's character was named Dean.
When this episode later aired as a rerun, several scenes were cut out in order for it to fit the 1 hour time slot.

Episode Goofs
When John checks on Sam, the blood falls from directly above the crib. However, when John turns and looks, he doesn't look up to see Mary. Instead, he looks to the side and behind the crib to where she's suspended.
When Constance kills Troy on the bridge, blood splatters everywhere inside the car. However, when the deputies check it out later, there's no sign of blood and they even say that it's "spotless."
When Dean puts his Metallica cassette in his cassette player, the song that plays is AC/DC's "Back in Black", not Metallica.
When Sam and Dean take Amy and Rachel to a diner, the girls' glasses are/aren't filled with ice depending on which shot is used.
During one scene, Constance's suicide is said to have occured on April 25, 1981. However, when Dean and Sam are looking up information about her death, they pull up the archive files from April 25, 1971.

The episode is based on the folklore story of La Llorona that has taken on several forms, from The Woman in White to Weeping Woman, in different cultures.
