Recap
David McNamara and his wife Molly are on a country highway and thoroughly lost. She complains that they're stuck in their car on their anniversary and he flirt with her, and they spot a man on the road ahead of them. Molly jerks the car off the road, they go down the hill, and crash to a stop. When Molly wakes up, David's car door is open but there's no sign of him. She walks through the woods trying to find him and spots a hunting cabin with a lit candle in the window. She knocks on the door and gets no answer, goes inside, and finds a blood-covered table and knives. The man from the road is standing nearby, and Molly apologizes for the accident. He turns around, his eyes black and his mouth oozing blood. ..

Episode Quotes
Molly: Isn’t this argument a little archaic? Men can ask directions these days.
David: Oh, no we can’t. It’s against our genetic code. Look, I know exactly where we are.
Molly: We’re nowhere.
David: Highway 99, all right? It cuts right through... (sees a marker for Highway 41)
Dean: Did he look like he lost a fight with a lawnmower?
Molly McNamara: How did you know that?
Dean: Lucky guess.
Molly McNamara: Right before, we were having the dumbest fight. It's the only time we really argue, when we're stuck in the car.
Sam: Yeah, I know how that goes. (Dean glares at him)
Sam: It wasn't a coincidence that we found you, all right?
Molly McNamara: What are you talking about?
Dean: We weren't just cruisin' for chicks when we ran into you, sister, we were already out here. Hunting.
Molly McNamara: Hunting for what?
Dean: Ghosts.
Sam: Don't sugarcoat it for her.
Dean: You know, just once I would like to round the corner and see a nice house.
Molly McNamara: I don't understand how a guy like this can turn into that monster.
Sam: Well, spirits like Greeley are like wounded animals. Lost... in so much pain they lash out.
Molly McNamara: Why? Why are they here?
Sam: Well, there's some part of them that... that's keeping them here. Like their remains, or unfinished business.
Molly McNamara: Unfinished business?
Sam: Yeah. Could be revenge. Could be love, or hate. Whatever it is, they just hold on too tight. Can't let go. So they're trapped. Caught in the same loops. Replaying the same tragedies over and over.
Molly McNamara: You sound almost sorry for them.
Sam: Well, they weren't evil people, you know? A lot of them were good, just something happened to them. Something they couldn't control.
Dean: Sammy's always gettin' a little J. Love Hewitt when it comes to this. Me, I don't like 'em. And I'm sure as hell ain't makin' apologies for 'em.
Dean: Smells like old lady in here. (finds a woman's corpse) That would explain why.
Molly McNamara: What happens if you burn their bones?
Sam: Umm, well my dad used to say that was like death for ghosts, you know? But the truth is, we still don't know. Not for sure. Guess that's why we all hold onto life so hard. Because of death. All just scared of the unknown.
Sam: It's an old country custom, Dean, planting a tree as a grave marker.
Dean: You're like a walking encyclopedia of weirdness.
Sam: Yeah, I know.
Molly McNamara: I know about your wife, hurting me won't bring her back.
Jonah Greeley: My wife is gone. All I got left's hurting you.
Molly McNamara: Please, just let me go.
Jonah Greeley: Go? You're not gonna leave. You're never gonna leave.
Molly: Oh, thank God!
Dean: Call me Dean.
Dean: I guess she wasn't so bad. For a ghost. You think she's really going to a better place?
Sam: I hope so.
Dean: I guess we'll never know. Not until we take the plunge ourselves, huh?
Sam: It doesn't really matter, Dean. Hope's kind of the whole point.
Dean: Well all right, Haley Joel.
