Episode Notes
During the Hollywood studio tour, the guide mentions being able to see the set of
Gilmore Girls and Sam becomes noticeably nervous. Jared Padalecki (Sam) starred on
Gilmore Girls for 3 seasons as Dean Forrester.
This is the first episode that Dean's Impala has not been used by the brothers.
Sam: Does this feel like swimming weather to you? It's practically Canadian.
Sam makes this comment while the brothers are in Hollywood. Most Supernatural episodes are filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
McG, a series producer, makes a cameo appearance as a man standing behind Sam and Dean where the crew of the film is listening to their producer.
Parts of the set used for
Hell Hazers II in this episode was also used for several other episodes: the water tower was used in "
Crossroad Blues" and the cabin was used in "
Roadkill.
During one of the movie takes, the clapperboard reads Roll 6, Scene 6, Take 6, a reference to the number 666.
While on the set of the movie, a rack of costumes used for Supernatural is rolled by. As they pass the brothers, Sam stares at them for a bit.
The trailer for
Hell Hazers II features several of the series' own crew, in the same jobs.
Episode Quotes
Dean: Sam, check it out. It's Matt Damon.
Sam: Yeah, pretty sure that's not Matt Damon.
Dean: No, it is.
Sam: Well, Matt Damon just picked up a broom and started sweeping.
Dean: Well, he's probably researching a role or something.
Sam: I don't think so.
Sam: Dude, you wanted to come to L.A.
Dean: Yeah, for vacation! I mean, swimming pools and movie stars. Not to work.
Sam: Does this feel like swimming weather to you? It's practically Canadian.
Dean: Oh, like Poltergeist?
Sam: It could be a poltergeist.
Dean: No, no, no. Like the movie, Poltergeist. (Sam looks puzzled) You know nothing of your cultural heritage, do you?
Brad Redding: Who says horror has to be dark? It’s kind of depressing, don’t you think?
Brad Redding: Uh, excuse me, green-shirt guy? Yeah, yeah, you, come here. Could you get me a smoothie from Craft?
Dean: You want a what from who?
Dean: What's a PA?
Sam: I think they're kinda like slaves.
Sam: So what do you think?
Dean: Well, I think being a PA sucks, but the food these people get? Are you kidding me? I mean, look at these things, they’re like miniature Philly cheese steak sandwiches, they’re delicious!
Sam: Maybe later.
Brad: See, but if the ghosts are in Hell, how do they hear the chanting?
Martin: Jay, the poor guy killed himself. Like, for real. Shouldn't we shut it down or something?
Jay Wiley: We had a moment of silence for him at breakfast. He was just a studio guy.
Tara Benchley: Why would a ghost be afraid of salt?
McG: Marty!
Martin: Yo.
McG: What do you think?
Martin: I'm not married to salt. What do you want? Are we still sticking with condiments?
McG: Mmm, it just sounds different, not better. What else would a ghost be scared of?
Walter Dixon: You gotta be kidding me.
Martin: What would a ghost be scared of? Maybe, uh, maybe shotguns.
McG: That makes even less sense than salt.
Dean: This map is totally worth the $5 bucks. Hey, we gotta go check out Johnny Ramone's grave when we're done here.
Sam: You want to dig him up too?
Dean: Bite your tongue, heathen!
(ad for "Hell Hazers II: The Reckoning")
Announcer: They never forgive. They never forget. And this summer they're coming back again to settle the score... AGAIN!
Sam: You know, maybe the spirits are trying to shut down the movie because they think it sucks. 'Cause, I mean, it kind of does.
(Dean blows away the ghost)
Martin: You are one hell of a PA!
Dean: I know.
Walter Dixon: You two can leave, but Martin's gotta stay.
Dean: Sorry, can't do that. It's not that we like him or anything, it's a matter of principle.
Martin: I cannot believe there's an afterlife.
Dean: Oh, there's an afterlife all right. But mostly it's a pain in the ass.
Sam: You find out there is an afterlife, and this is what you do with it?
Martin: I needed a little jazz on the page.
