During the Hollywood studio tour, the guide mentions being able to see the set of Gilmore Girls and Sam becomes noticeably nervous. Jared Padalecki (Sam) starred on Gilmore Girls for 3 seasons as Dean Forrester.

This is the first episode that Dean's Impala has not been used by the brothers.

Sam: Does this feel like swimming weather to you? It's practically Canadian.

Sam makes this comment while the brothers are in Hollywood. Most Supernatural episodes are filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

McG, a series producer, makes a cameo appearance as a man standing behind Sam and Dean where the crew of the film is listening to their producer.

Parts of the set used for Hell Hazers II in this episode was also used for several other episodes: the water tower was used in "Crossroad Blues" and the cabin was used in "Roadkill.

During one of the movie takes, the clapperboard reads Roll 6, Scene 6, Take 6, a reference to the number 666.

While on the set of the movie, a rack of costumes used for Supernatural is rolled by. As they pass the brothers, Sam stares at them for a bit.

Brad: See, but if the ghosts are in hell, how do they hear the chanting?

Sam: You find out there is an afterlife and this is what you do with it?
Martin: I needed a little jazz on the page.

Dean: Hey, we gotta go check out Johnny Ramone's grave when we're done here.
Sam: You want to dig him up too?
Dean: Bite your tongue, heathen!

Sam: Does this feel like swimming weather to you? It's practically Canadian.

Sam: You know, maybe the spirits are trying to shut down the movie because they think it sucks. 'Cause, I mean, it kind of does.

Dean: What's a PA?
Sam: I think they're kinda like slaves.

Dean: Sam, check it out. It's Matt Damon.
Sam: Yeah, pretty sure that's not Matt Damon.
Dean: No, it is.
Sam: Well, Matt Damon just picked up a broom and started sweeping.

Martin: I cannot believe there's an afterlife.
Dean: There's an afterlife all right. But mostly it's a pain in the ass.
