The Magnificent Seven - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Oak Park, IL resident Walter Rosen takes his garbage out to the curb and glances enviously at his neighbor’s car for a few seconds. Then he puts the garbage in the can… and the can starts to vibrate. A black cloud passes overhead and a single streamer shoots down and enters his mouth. Walter collapses to the ground and then gets back up… his eyes solid black. Overhead, the black cloud moves on.

A week later, Sam is outside a house reading about demon rituals. Dean is inside in bed with two girls. Bobby calls Sam and they discuss the deal that Dean made to save Sam, and how Sam won’t find a way out by reading a book. Bobby then has news of strange supernatural activity in Lincoln, Nebraska, and tells Sam to collect Dean and get moving. Sam collects his brother and they head for Lincoln, noting that the demons freed from the Hell Gate don’t seem to have been active until now.

In Lincoln they meet up with Bobby and go to a house where strange insect activity was reported. They find a family inside which have been dead a week. Dean checks outside and two people attack him. It turns out they’re a married couple of demon hunters, Tamara and Isaac.

Later Dean flirts with the coroner and gets the cause of death on the family: they starved to death in a house full of food. Isaac is suspicious of the Winchesters, since they freed the demons from the Hell Gate. He storms off with Tamara in tow to find the demons on their own. Everyone is unaware that a blond woman is secretly watching the Winchesters.

Walter Rosen walks into an Oak Park shoe store and touches a woman, suggesting she really likes a pair of shoes that another woman is examining. The first woman goes up to the second, demands the shoes… and then kills her when she doesn’t turn them over.

Dean and Sam check out the shoe store and Bobby impersonates a Federal agent and talks to the woman. Bobby has managed to expose her to holy water and figure out she isn’t demon possessed. Dean spots a security camera and they watch the tape to identify Walter. They leave to search town for him and Sam spots the mysterious blond following him.

Dean and Bobby track Walter to a bar while Sam checks the man’s home life and figures out he went missing the same night the Hell Gate opened. They all spot Isaac and Tamara going in. Inside, Walter spots them and goes into the restroom. Isaac tries to follow him but another demon-possessed man confronts him. The other five bar patrons come after them: they’re all possessed. Sam and Dean realize something is wrong and try to get in but the door is locked. One of the demon-possessed humans forces Isaac to drink drain cleaner, while the others hold Tamara and force her to watch. Isaac dies and the guys bust through the door using their car. They hold the demons off with holy water, toss Walter into the trunk, and get out with Tamara.

They go back to the house they’re squatting at and put Walter in a Devil’s Trap. A furious Tamara insists on going back to the bar but they try to hold her back. Bobby realizes there are seven demon-possessed people, and they represent the Seven Deadly Sins. The various deaths relate to Sloth, Envy, and Gluttony. Realizing Walter is Envy, they try to interrogate him but he is unimpressed and taunts them with their all sins. Realizing they won’t get anything from him, they let Tamara finish him off for good, killing the human host as well. Dean offers to go hold off the Sins on his own while the others escape, but Sam refuses to let the seemingly unconcerned Dean go off on his own.

Everyone barricades the house, using salt to seal the doors, and Isaac arrives outside. He says that he managed to escape and asks Tamara to come outside. She figures it’s a trick but when he taunts her with how she let demons kill their daughter, she breaks and storms outside, breaking the salt line. She kills “Isaac” but the other Sins move in.

Bobby lures one demon, Gluttony, into a Devil’s Trap and uses the ritual to banish it. Lust goes after Dean, who backs into a bathroom. She starts to seduce him, but he grabs her and dunks her into a prepared tub full of holy water.

Sam fights the remaining demons, including Pride. Pride manages to destroy the Devil’s Trap they’ve set for him and then taunts Sam with how he was once intended to lead the demon army but now has nothing and the Yellow-Eyed Demon no longer protects him. Pride and the other two demons attack Sam but the mysterious blond arrives and kills two of them with a mystic knife. She quickly leaves before Sam can find out anything about her.

Once the sun rises, the guys exorcise the demons and burn the bodies of the two hosts who didn’t survive. Tamara burns Isaac’s body separately. The guys wonder who the blond is and what kind of weapon she could have. Bobby and Tamara go their separate ways and Sam suggests they head to Louisiana to find a voodoo priestess to break Dean’s deal. Dean warns that if he somehow breaks the deal, Sam dies and he doesn’t plan to let that happen. Dean admits that he feels good and they should go out and raise a little hell.
