Keep Hope Alive - Recap

With Matt voted to Redemption Island, for the Ometepa tribe: Ashley, Grant, Kristina, Phillip, Natalie, Boston Rob, and Andrea. For the Zapatera tribe: Mike, Stephanie, Ralph, Julie, Krista, Steve, Sarita, David, and Russell are left on the island to fend for themselves and to be the survivor. On Night 5 on Redemption Island, Matthew gets there and Francesca is sleeping. She says that she thought Phillip was going to be next. On the Ometepe tribe, Boston Rob and Grant loved how it went tonight and say that everything is going as planned as before.

Day 6

On Redemption Island, Matt and Francesca get their task and it says that they have to go to their duel with one another. Meanwhile on Zepatara, they find out that they are going to have to send in two people to Redemption Island to witness the duel. They reach into the bag and it is Steve and David who are chosen to go to Redemption Island. At the Ometepe tribe, it is Andrea and Ashley who get to go see the duel and Boston Rob is scared that Andrea will be able to talk to Matt about the entire blindside.

They arrive on the island and the duel is to make a long pole to retrieve three keys. The first one to make it through the fence, stays in the game. The challenge begins and Francesca gets her first and second key through the fence before Matt. But, Matt gets his keys and gets all of the keys first. Matt stays alive in the game of Survivor and has to stay on Redemption Island to wait for the next opponent.

Andrea and Ashley get back and they say that Matt was furious that he is on Redemption Island and that he is vowing revenge. They tell them that Matt won the challenge and that he is still in the game. Boston Rob takes Andrea to the side and says that he didn’t want to vote off Matt and that she is still part of the original alliance. He says that he is taking her to the merge with him and that she has nothing to fear from him. She tells him that she believes him, but she doesn’t really. Andrea is really upset that they tried to kick off her only real friend on the island.

Day 7

Steve and David get back from Redemption Island and they say that Matt lost the challenge and that Francesca did. Russell leaves and Steve and David say that it was really Matt and that Russell is going to be surprised when he gets to Redemption Island. Russell says that he is going to have to find the hidden immunity idol and Stephanie says that they are going to make a fake one and make them think that they have one. Stephanie protects her bag to make the others think that she has it, but Ralph says that he knows the truth and there is no idol inside her bag.

Day 8

At Zepatera, Russell has some rash on his armpits and Steve, Mike and Ralph tell that Russell isn’t doing anything and they tell each other that they are going to have to throw the next challenge so that they can get him out of there sooner than originally planned. Julie is torn between that because she doesn’t like to lose on purpose and doesn’t think that it is a good idea.

Immunity Challenge Time and both tribes get there and Ralph gives back the immunity idol. They are playing for a reward too. When the tribe wins, they get a tarp and two chairs. The goal is to have 3 members be strapped to a wheel and have to take water in their mouths and spit it into a bucket. Then a puzzle has to be solved. The game begins and it is Ometepe who win the challenge because David didn’t put his whole heart into it and Russell can see that his tribe threw the challenge.

On Ometepe, Boston Rob is happy that they won the challenge, but now has to find the hidden immunity idol clue. He goes on the hunt for the clue because last time, he didn’t do it and it hurt him. He sees Phillip sitting on a chair and says that it is bending the chair. He says that he will fix the chair and sees that the clue is sewn into the chair. He takes the clue, but he is not going to share it with anyone. On Zapatera, they get back to camp and Russell says that they are going to have to get one of the strong group to join their side. Stephanie talks to Julie and she plays along and says that she has to believe in Russell because he has the experience to keep them into the game. Russell goes to talk to her and Stephanie says that it is going to be the biggest blind side and Russell says that they are voting Ralph.

Tribal Council Time and Zepatera light their torches. Ralph says that it is good to be there and it is bad to be at tribal council. He says that there is a division already in their tribe. Steve says that six of them are rock solid and three that are not. Sarita says that it is Russell’s “legacy” and he can’t be trusted. Russell says that it felt like they threw the challenge. Mike says that they didn’t throw it and they have some fat on the tribe to cut off. Stephanie says that the majority forget who Russell is. David interrupts her and Stephanie says that she is still talking. The voting begins. Russell with 3, Ralph with 3, and Stephanie with 3. It is a tie. Russell, Ralph and Stephanie can’t vote. They vote again and it is Russell 3, Ralph 1. Third person voted off is Russell and says that he will be back and will be ready.
