This Game Respects Big Moves - Recap

With Sarita voted off to Redemption Island, for the Ometepa tribe: Ashley, Grant, Phillip, Natalie, Boston Rob, and Andrea. For the Zapatera tribe: Mike, Ralph, Julie, Steve, and David are alive in the game. On Night 18 at the Zapatera tribe, the group talks and says that Sarita was the weakest player and that they feel that it was justified. Meanwhile on Redemption Island, Sarita meets Matt and tells him the good things about the Zapatera tribe. Matt says that he is determined to get back into the game.

Day 19

On the Ometepe tribe, they get their tree mail and it says that all of the tribe members are going to see the duel and they suspect there is a merge coming. Rob suggests that they pack their stuff because they are going to go to have to go. At the Zapatera they also get the mail that all the tribe members are going to witness the duel. Later on Redemption Island, Matt cut his foot and says that he hopes that it is not an endurance challenge because he doesn’t know if he is going to be able to hold on. The duel begins it is an endurance challenge where they have to stand on pegs for 15 minutes and then rotate to a smaller one for another 15 minutes. Both Sarita and Matt survive for the first two pegs, but on the third with no time limit, Matt wins the challenge and reenters the game!

They newly merged tribe get a new island and they find that they have Chicken, beer and fruit. They feast and ask what the name of the tribe will be and Rob offers it be Murlornio. He says that it is about waves and something and the tribe eats it up. However, it is an inside joke that he has. Matt talks with Mike and says that he wants to team up with Andrea and Matt and he says that he will talk it over. Matt says that it would be the smart thing to do to go with the old Zapatera tribe, but he is having second thoughts because you need to stick to what you were with and says that he is at a crossroad.

Night 20

It is a miserable night and it is leaking on the old Zapatera tribe side. They take this as a sign that they are the odd tribe out and that it is going to have to be a battle between them. Matt talks to Andrea and says that he wants to blindside Rob and go after the Ometepe tribe. She says that she doesn’t know if that is such a good idea. She doesn’t think that Matt is thinking right since being on Redemption Island for so long.

Day 21

Mike pulls out the bible and shares it with Matt. He is trying to get Matt to get on the old Zapatera tribe. Rob laughs about how Matt and Mike are talking about God and says that there is a Christian Coalition going on. He says that it doesn’t matter if it is God or pizza, if they agree on it, then Matt is the threat.

Individual Immunity Challenge Time and they are going to have to balance balls on a plate. First one to drop out is Julie. Next is Ashley. David is out of the challenge next. The third ball is added and Andrea, Grant, Matt, Rob, Philip. Ralp, Mike, Natalie, and Steve are left. Ralph drops out. Steve is out. The final two are Mike and Natalie. A fly lands on Mike’s ball and he boughts out. Natalie wins the challenge.

Back at the beach, they give Natalie praise for winning the immunity idol. Mike goes to his old tribe and tells that he is on the chopping block and he knows it. Ralph says that he will use the idol to save Mike from elimination. They talk and they say that they are going to take out Rob’s right hand man and vote for Grant. If they can get Matt to flip, then they will have a chance. Matt talks to Rob and says that he is at crossroads between going with the old Zapetera tribe or stay with his old tribe. Rob doesn’t like the fact that Matt would think of switching sides and says that he wants to vote him out, but pretends to agree with him. Mike tries to write Matt a note to have him vote for Grant. He doesn’t know going in what he is going to do.

Tribal Council Time and the newly formed tribe sit down and Ralph says that it is like a separate tribe. Philip says that they would never not try and he says that there are some in the tribe are nice, but some are vial. Votes are tallied and Jeff asks if anyone wants to play an idol. Ralph gets up and secures Mike’s spot in the game like he said he would. Jeff reads the votes and it is 5 votes Grant 1 for Steve and 5 for Matt. The next one to go to Redemption Island is Matt!!
