Rice Wars - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
With Mike and David joining Matt on Redemption Island, only Ashley, Grant, Phillip, Natalie, Rob, Andrea, Ralph, Julie, and Steve remain in the main competition. On night 24 on Redemption Island, Matt is praying and says he doesn’t want to be in the game, but says that the Lord wants him to be in it, and then he will be. David comes up and tells that he is there now and it is good.

Day 25

At the Murlonio tribe Steve, Ralph and Julie are clustered together and Steve is trying to figure out how Philip is a good guy at heart and says that they have to get irritated with Philip and there is always a chance. Philip goes to the cliff and meditates with his feather on his head. He tells that he has a premonition and says that he trusts Rob and tells that he will be there at the end of the game. Philip sits next to Steve, Julie and Ralph and sees that they are eating several scoops of rice instead of preserving it. Philip plays “rice police” and takes some of their rice and puts it in their container.

Steve and Julie go to tree mail and everyone is to go see the duel. They show up and the challenge begins. They are going to have to use tiles to build a house of cards. First two to 8 feet are still alive in the game. Mike moves along and gets closer and closer. Mike gets his high enough and gets through. Matt gets his high enough and wins the second spot. David loses and becomes the first member of the jury.

Day 26

Back at camp, Andrea sees that there are maggots in their part of the rice and Phillip has her dump it out on the tarp and pick out the maggots. Andrea tries to talk to Steve and Julie about putting the rice into their container so that it doesn’t spoil. Steve tells that it isn’t going to happen. Philip comes over and starts to tell that they are acting like children. Steve calls Philip crazy and Philip takes it to be a race insult and makes it a black and white thing. The other members of the tribe get uncomfortable. Grant and Rob talk and Grant tells that he is a little uncomfortable about the way Philip is acting and everyone around agrees as well.

Immunity challenge time and they have to build a muti-based puzzle wheel. The first six to complete the first part move on to the next round. The challenge begins and Rob, Julie, Ralph, Andrea, Steve and Grant move on to the next round to finish the puzzle. The next round begins and it is Rob who wins the immunity after a close call with Steve finishing a moment after Rob.

Day 27

At the Murlonio tribe, Julie hides Philip’s shorts out of retaliation to his threats saying that he will hide their rice and go crazy on Steve. She tells that it is war and they are never going to find the shorts. Philip comes back looking for his shorts and starts to question everyone about them. Ashley hates Philip and doesn’t like to see him walking around accusing everyone. Steve tells that Philip is insane and they only need two tribe members from the former Ometepe tribe to flip and vote Philip out.

Tribal Council time and Philip is still in his underwear and feather. They air out their “dirty laundry” and Steve tells that Philip took it racial when they wouldn’t put their portion of the rice into their container. Jeff is confused and asks why Philip took it racial. Philip tells the history of how his father was called “Boy” and that meant the N-word. He says that when Steve called him crazy, it meant the N-word to him. Jeff thinks that the entire thing is crazy but settles the tribe down and says that Philip is right and Steve is right. He asks who stole the shorts and Julie confesses and says that they will never find them. The votes are read and it is Phil with 3 Julie 4. Next person voted off is Julie. She walks out to go to Redemption Island.
