Ticking Time Bomb - Recap

With Cochran voted to Redemption Island, it is Coach, Edna, Sophie, Albert, Rick, and Brandon who are left in the game. On Night 30, Cochran joins Ozzy on Redemption Island. He says that the big move that he made to take out the Savaii tribe members may have been the worst move. He tells Ozzy that he drank the kool-aide and that he got betrayed by all of them. He asks Ozzy if he has a chance of beating him in the duel tomorrow. Ozzy tells him that he has a chance and then says that he really doesn’t have a chance at beating him at the challenge.

Day 31

Everyone wakes up and Edna walks away from them when Brandon asks them to gather around for Morning Prayer. She says that she knows that she is not a part of the tribe and that they don’t need to pretend with her. Edna goes up to Coach and tells him that she doesn’t like the deceit that has been in the camp and says that it is unfair that Brandon, who is a drop out, is going to be allowed to go through and she has to go home. Coach tells her that he knows that she would be voted through if it was a different game. Brandon comes into the camp and, very loudly, announces that they got a SPRINT tree mail. They open it up to find the cell phone that has their family videos. Albert’s mother, Sophie’s father, Rick’s wife, Edna’s sister, Brandon’s father and Coach’s brother each tell them that they are proud of them and they are uplifted.

The Duel is underway and Ozzy and Cochran come out to face one another. Their challenge is to get the bags and get a ball to make it through a maze. The duel begins and it is clear that Ozzy is going to win. However, Cochran catches up and each contestant falters at the last move. Finally after 3 tries with the maze, Ozzy wins. Cochran says that he had a lot of fun and says that he is the Ultimate Survivor fan and that it was a great experinece. He walks off and Jeff tells the contestants that their family is there to see them. They exchange hugs and kisses. Ozzy that he is going to be able to pick 3 people and he picks Coach, Albert and Brandon to be with him. They go off to spend time on Redemption Island and immediately, Coach goes up to Ozzy and proposes the plan that will guarantee them two in the Final Two. Brandon’s father talks to Brandon and he says that he needs to remember why he is there. Brandon tries to tell his father that he wants to play honorably and his father tells him to win and nothing else. Brandon’s father goes to Coach and tells him that he wants to make sure that Coach is going to take Brandon to the Final 4. Coach doesn’t say anything, but it is clear that he didn’t like to be bullied. Coach says that Brandon is a ticking time bomb.

Day 32

Immunity Challenge time and today they are going to have to move across the puzzle board. The challenge begins and each contestant plays the game to be able to not run out of moves so that they can win the challenge. Albert and Brandon get out of the challenge first and Brandon laughs and says that he made it impossible for “someone” to not win the challenge. Edna takes the offense and tells him that he can just say her name. He says that he is true to his word. Rick and Sophie are the next to get out of the game. This leaves Edna and Coach, but Coach is the clear winner because of the space he has. Edna makes her last move and tells the tribe that she was under the impression that the team was playing for honor. The tribe members start to think of a possible flip.

The Te Tuna tribe gets back to camp and Edna asks if she can filter anyone’s water. The other tribe members feel that Brandon crossed the line and that it wasn’t necessary to make Edna feel worse then she is now feeling. Brandon attempts to apologize to Edna, but she doesn’t believe him at all. Edna goes over to Sophie, Albert, Rick and Coach and tells them that Brandon is a loose cannon and that they need to get rid of that. Coach talks to Edna and tells her that there are plenty of cases that would warrant going with Brandon’s side on this and others. He tells her to go to Albert and Sophie that everything is cool. She goes up to them and they tell her that they don’t know how they are going to vote.

Tribal Council Time and the jury sit down with the remaining 6 contestants. Edna says that she was trying to target Brandon because the Upolu Mantra of honor, loyalty and integrity, was misunderstood by Brandon. Jeff asks Brandon what happened and he says that he has been open with everything and says that it would hurt his feelings. He says that Edna has been planting seeds. Sophie says that it is hard because for one, it is ending. Albert says that it comes down to the decisions that were made early in the game. The votes are tallied and it is Edna with 3 votes and Brandon with 1 vote. Edna is voted off to Redemption Island and is the 14th person voted out.
