• CBS orders two more 'Survivor' editions; Jeff Probst inks new deal

CBS has announced it has ordered two more editions of Survivor, the hit reality series that kick-started the modern reality TV era when it premiered in 2000, for broadcast during the 2008-2009 season.

In addition, long-time Survivor host Jeff Probst has signed a new agreement to continue to helm the CBS reality series. Probst's previous contract, which he signed in December 2005 amidst reports that he was planning on leaving the show, was a two-year deal that took him through the show's upcoming Spring 2008 sixteenth installment.

"This kind of longevity is achievable only with loyal viewers. We've been very lucky that our fans have stayed with us," said Probst. "I still get excited to get on the plane and travel to another exotic location with another group of adventure seeking, Type A personalities. It is without question the best job I've ever had."
