Held to recognize and celebrate teens who are agents of change in their communities, the stars of Hollywood gathered together to tape the 2011 TeenNick HALO Awards at the Hollywood Palladium on Wednesday night (October 26).
Conceived, hosted and executive produced by Nick Cannon, this year's ceremony featured the presentation of four unique stories deeply relevant and important to teens with special stage appearances by celebrities including Heidi Klum, Victoria Justice, Stephen Moyer and Serena Williams.
Nick Cannon hosts the fifth annual celebration honoring teens who take leadership roles in helping their communities. Each honoree meets with a celebrity, including Queen Latifah, Josh Hutcherson, Shay Mitchell and Chris Paul. Also: Fall Out Boy and Austin Mahone perform.
The Nickelodeon HALO Awards returns to turn awards shows on their heads. Instead of celebrities receiving awards at Nick’s 6th annual concert event, they will be giving them to a group of select kids for their extraordinary service to their communities – HALO stands for “helping and leading others.” The HALO Awards will be a star-studded event featuring live musical performances from fan-favorite acts and appearances by Nickelodeon stars. The event will be hosted by
“America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon, who helped found the awards in 2009. Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor, The Roots, Echosmith, The Vamps, and Fifth Harmony will perform, while Zendaya Coleman, Carlos PenaVega, Sydney Park, Jack Griffo, Kira Kosarin, Benjamin Flores Jr., Breanna Yde, Leon Thomas, and Matt Bennett will make appearances as presenters.
