  Season 1 (Things Change)  
The TMNT find themselves homeless when their original lair is destroyed by an unknown enemy, taking to the streets, they encounter the ruthless Purple Dragon gang, and engage in conflict with the Ninja crime force known as The Foot for the first time. They eventually find a new lair, and as their battles take them to the power behind their previous lair's destroyers, Baxter Stockman, they gain an ally in April O'Neil.

Further journeys would gain the TMNT allies with Casey Jones, and their adversaries would increase, as they thwarted the schemes of The Foot time and again, their leader, Oroku Saki, also known as the terrifying Shredder, sought to eliminate them once and for all. His first effort failing, Saki would eventually rebound and triumph, mortally wounding the TMNT and driving them from New York City.

After recovering, the Turtles would return to New York and face The Shredder once more, this time the tables were turned, but not before the price of victory came with Master Splinter vanishing...
