  Episode Summary  
MGM's classic film Ben Hur swept through the competition at the 31st Annual Academy Awards winning eleven awards in all, including Best Motion Picture, Best Actor (Charlton Heston), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Hugh Griffith), Best Director (William Wyler) and Best Colour Cinematography (Robert L. Surtees). Other winners include Simone Signoret for Best Actress in Room at the Top and Shelley Winters for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her part in The Diary of Anne Frank. Bob Hope received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and Buster Keaton received an Honorary Award for his unique talents that brought immortal comedies to the screen.
