Twentieth Century-Fox's Gentleman's Agreement picked up the most awards this year winning the Best Motion Picture of the year, as well as Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Celeste Holm) and Best Director for Elia Kazan. Actor James Baskett also received a Special Award for his able and heartwarming characterization of "Uncle Remus," friend and storyteller to the children of the world in Walt Disney's Song of the South.
