The Manicurist - Recap

Ellen Brown is a big city manicurist who arrives in Mayberry in search of friendly serenity after a spat with her barber boyfriend Pierre. Ellen manages to set herself up in business at Floyd's Barber Shop. Floyd's customers are intimidated by the new element in the shop and decline Ellen's invitations to receive manicures. Andy makes light of Ellen - bringing her close to tears - and apologizes to her by stepping forward to receive the first manicure. What's good for Andy is good for his buddies and business booms for Ellen. The ladies of Mayberry take exception to their husbands' manicures and force the men to cancel their appointments. Floyd believes the sudden turn of events will break Ellen's heart and asks Andy to break the bad news to her. Ellen gets the first word in however and informs Andy she's going home to marry Pierre.
