Week 3 (S16) - Recap
With Jenna and Shawn out of the competition, the show continues and for Lindzi C. (27) Jamie (25), Rachel (27), Blakeley (34), Emily (27), Casey S. (26), Kacie B. (24), Brittney (26), Erika (23), Nicki (26), Jennifer (28), Elyse (24), Samantha (26), Courtney (28), Jaclyn (27), and Monica (33) it is another step closer to the end. The girls get to San Francisco and Kacie B. is happy about her chances to be on another date with Ben too. Ben meets up with his sister, Julia, and he tells about the girls. He says that there are a lot of girls that he has a connection with and Julia says that he is on a wild journey and she is happy that he is going to be happy. She says that she wants him to find the girl of his dreams.
Chris tells the girls that the first date card is in his hands and says that if they are not on dates, they need to find time. Emily gets the first date card and Courtney is not worried about it at all and says that Book Smart could be a little boring. Emily meets up with Ben and he tells her that the city is his home. He says that they are going to climb to the top of the Bay Bridge. He says that he doesn’t do well with heights and she says that she doesn’t either. On the way there, she does not like this at all. She and Ben start to climb and she is doing alright with the climb. The incline starts and she starts to get nervous. Ben sees that Emily is panicking. From the hotel, Jennifer sees that they are on the Bay Bridge. On the bridge, Emily gets a kiss from Ben and gets the courage to get to the top of the bridge. She says that it is amazing and says that it was the most wonderful experience of her life.
After the bridge, they have dinner and Ben says that tonight is for Emily and him to get to know one another. They talk about last year with Ben and Ashley. He says that he really did love Ashley, but it is over. Emily says that she tried online dating and they matched her with her brother. He says that he is having fun with her. At the hotel, they get another date card. This one is for: Blakeley, Jaclyn, Kacie B., Erica, Samantha, Monica, Rachel, Nicki, Casey S, Elyse and Jamie get to go on a date with Ben later. Back on the date with Emily, Ben gives her the First Rose. She is happy that they got to celebrate and having fun. She says that nothing can top their night. Suddenly there are fireworks. Ben says that his date with Emily was perfect and says that the bar is set high.
The next day, the girls who were called on the group date, come out and meet Ben. He says that he is excited about the “Extreme” date that they are going on. They are going snow skiing. They are confused and get in the cars. They go up the hill with the skis and find that Ben had snow put on the streets. The other citizens of the city watch the girls go down the hill in their bikinis. Back at the hotel, Lindzi is not happy that she hasn’t progressed and says that she needs some time with Ben. Brittney gets the next date card. She says that she didn’t see it coming. She says that she doesn’t want to go on the date. She says that something doesn’t feel right to her. Back at the slopes, Ben asks to talk to Rachel alone. She says that Ben is so funny and says that he is laid back. He says that he is glad she is there. She says that she feels that they really connected. Kacie B. sees them kissing and doesn’t like it. She asks to steal Ben away for a bit. Ben asks how she is doing since their date and tells her to focus on the night they had and what they are going to do next. Ben says that Kacie B. sparkles.
At the hotel, Brittney talks to Samantha and says that she is completely overwhelmed. She says that she doesn’t want to stay if her heart is not in it. She packs up her bags and says talks to the other girls about her decision. She goes downstairs and finds Ben. She is emotional and says that she got the card on the one on one date and says that she is not the girl for him. The other girls tell each other that they respect Brittney. He doesn’t like it, but says that it has to happen. He gets the girls together and gives the rose of the group date to Rachel. The next day, Ben says that he isn’t that broken hearted to lose Brittney because he was on the fence with her. They get the date card and it is for Lindzi. She is happy about it.
Later that night, Lindzi likes the fact that she is on the date with Ben and they take a ride on the trolley on Market Street. They get into the ice crème shop and enjoy it on the trolley. They go into Chinatown and go around the city. She says that she fells gitty over this and they end up in front of the San Fransico City Hall. Ben pulls out the key and they are entertained by Matt Nathanson. They start to dance and Ben says that he was focused with dancing with a sexy woman. She says that her kissing Ben isn’t what she does, but it just happened. They continue the date and they go to Bourbon and Branch, a speak-easy in San Francisco. He says that it is a nice first date place. He asks why she is still single and she says that she was dumped by text. Ben tells her that he loves it that she is comfortable in her own skin and says that they need to laugh at themselves. He says that she is making a lasting impression. He gives her the Third Rose. They sit down at the piano and he shows off that he can play a popular song. She says that this is the start of something special. Meanwhile, a woman calls Chris and says that this is going to be fun and meeting Ben.
The next day, the woman gets closer to San Francisco and says that Ben will fall in love with her. The girls get ready for the night and Courtney agrees to a drama-free night. Ben comes in and says that he wants to toast San Francisco and says that he is happy to be there. Jennifer sits down with Ben and says that they had a connection and that she really likes him. Ben says that Jennifer is by far the best kisser in the house. They kiss and Jaclyn sees them. She says that she might be falling in love. The woman who is coming in is a girl who was on the Bachelor last year and was sent home when Brad was it. Now that Ben is the Bachelor, she wants to show that she is the one to be with. She meets Chris and it is Shawntel! Chris says that Ben is going to be shocked to see her. Nicki plays a game with Ben and Courtney is not happy with the girls. Courtney stirs the pot and tries to start things. Lindzi is confused and Emily asks why she is so weird. Monica asks what happened with Courtney. Emily says that she is not good for Ben.
Courtney meets up with Ben and he says that he has been thinking about their date and she says that she has been feeling good inside and Ben says that he likes her a lot. Courtney says that she can handle the wait. They kiss and she says that they would make cute babies. Meanwhile, Shawntel gets ready to make an “impression”. She goes out and walks past the girls and they wonder who she is. They go on the prowl and Shawntel walks up to him. Ben is shocked. The other girls recognize her from the season before. Elyse is very upset with her and Shawntel says that they have talked before. She says that she has to know if he is willing to give her a rose. He is still shocked about the newcomer. He puts her in the room with the other girls. They ask why she is there. She says that she is there to date Ben. They attack her with the fact that she wants to stay. They ask why she feels better then the rest. Courtney says that she is done and Rachel says that Shawntel is creepy. Jaclyn says that they shouldn’t recycle the trash of Brad.
The girls get emotional about it and Nicki says that she is not alright with the fact that she flaunts in like she is better then the others who have already gone home. The Rose Ceremony begins and there are 11 roses to give out. The first rose goes to Courtney. She says that she will accept it, but tonight was hard. The next rose goes to Kacie B. The third rose goes to Elyse. The next rose goes to Jamie. The fifth rose goes to Jennifer. The next rose goes to Casey S. The seventh rose goes to Blakeley. The next rose goes to Monica. The ninth rose goes to Nicki. The next rose goes to Samantha. The final rose is on the table and Erica can’t stand. She sits down and the medics come in. They recover and the last rose goes to no one. Erica, Jaclyn, Shawntel leave the competition. Ben walks Shawntel out and says that he didn’t think it was fair to the other girls. Ben tells the rest of the girls that they are going to Park City Utah next time!
