Week 4 (S16) - Recap

With Erika, Jaclyn, Brittney and Shawntel out of the competition, the show continues and for Lindzi C. (27) Jamie (25), Rachel (27), Blakeley (34), Emily (27), Casey S. (26), Kacie B. (24), Nicki (26), Jennifer (28), Elyse (24), Samantha (26), Courtney (28) and Monica (33) it is a recovery time from the surprise that Shawntel gave last week. This week, they are going to Park City, Utah. Ben flies into Utah via helicopter while the girls fly in. Ben says that he wants to share the outdoors with the women and wants to be honest with the women. Nicki says that she is nervous because she hasn’t had that one on one with Ben. Chris comes in and says that there are 3 dates this week. He gives the first date card and it goes to Rachel. She is happy that this is their first big step to potential love. Kacie B. gets emotional because she wants to spend time with Ben because she has feelings for him and she knows that it is the same for him.

Rachel gets ready for the date and Kacie B. says that she wants that to be with Ben. However, she finds solace in the fact that she gets to see Ben. The girls watch as Rachel and Ben go up in a helicopter. They go on a scenic route in it. They land the helicopter and go to a lake and paddle out. Ben says that he is glad that Rachel is there with him. She says that it is nice and quiet. They kiss. Back at the house, Monica and Kacie B. talk and Kacie B. says that this is dragging out even longer. She tells her that today was hard and Monica says that she doesn’t see a connection with Rachel and Ben. Back on the date, Rachel is having a good time on date, but their conversation is hard and doesn’t carry on. Later that evening, Ben is still confused on how he feels about her. They get to dinner and Rachel is a little nervous on their date because she doesn’t open up that much.

Back at the house, the girls get another date card. It is a group date and Jamie, Casey S., Lindzi C, Blakeley, Samantha, Kacie B., Nicki, and Courtney are invited. Courtney says that she is excited. After dinner, Ben comes clean about his feelings for Rachel and says that he needs to go with his gut feeling and Rachel says that she has struggled with communication before and says that she is honest. Ben says that there is a good vibe between them though. He says that he wants her there and gives her the First Rose. They sit down and enjoy smores. Ben says that he likes kissing Rachel and says that it is going to take some time with her though.

The next day is the group date. Ben says that he wants the ladies to like this. The eight girls get to the outdoors and he says that they are going to go horseback riding. Nicki loves the scenery and that Ben is strait out of a movie. They get to a river and Ben says that they are going Fly Fishing. Kacie B. says that it is hard to share Ben with everyone else. Courtney sees the real meaning of the date and says that it is all about making their move to Ben. She sees Kacie B. get affectionate with Ben and Courtney is going to steal Ben away and make it a one on one. Back at the house, Monica and Emily talk about Courtney and how she is upsetting all the girls. Back on the date and Ben is amazed with Courtney.

Lindzi C. sees that they are secluded and Courtney catches a fish. Lindzi is upset and jealous that Courtney caught one. Kacie B. is upset that Courtney is getting Ben’s time. They get back to a veranda and Courtney says that she is going to get the rose because it is bound to happen. Ben takes Casey S. and talks to her. Nicki goes up and asks to steal Ben away a little bit. Nicki says that she is thankful that Ben has included her in the group dates. She tells him that she wants to know that she is there for him and they kiss. Samantha comes up and interrupts her. She talks to Ben and tells him that she wants to know what he sees in her. Ben says that the group dates are good, but Samantha hasn’t shown him that she can handle it. He tells her flat out that she doesn’t take this serious enough. He tells her that they should end this now. She leaves crying and tells the others that she is leaving. They hug her and tells her to not give up. Samantha is emotional and tells the girls that he is not into her. Ben comes back and tells the girls that he didn’t see a future with Samantha.

At the house, Emily, Elyse, Monica and Rachel wait for the date card and it goes to Jennifer. She has been waiting for this. Back with the group date, Ben takes Kacie B. to his room and they talk about each other. She tells him that she knows that he wants to spread around the time with the other women and Ben says that he wanted to kiss her today. He says that he wanted to reassure her that he wants her to be with him. She feels happy and Ben says that he has feelings for Kacie B. He says that he likes her a lot. It is almost the end of the night and Courtney is upset that she hasn’t had time. Ben tells her that he wants to sit by the fireplace. They kiss and Courtney says that she likes him and that it sucks because she feels so much for Ben. She says that when she is not with him, she doesn’t like it. She says that she has lost sight of things a bit. He says that he genuinely likes her and says that he hasn’t changed that. She says that she has to be able to tell him how she feels. He says that he will be right back and Ben gives her the rose based on the fact that she is having a bad time. The girls are upset especially Kacie B. she says that it is frustrating.

The next day, Jennifer is excited for her one on one date with Ben. He shows up and takes Jennifer away. Ben says that Jennifer seems shy, but knows that she can do this. Ben says that they are going to go down in a crater. She is not happy with it, but hides her fear. Meanwhile, the girls at the house talk about how Courtney is going to flaunt the rose. She comes up and they are quiet. Ben and Jennifer are suspended and she is scared. However, they get through it and Ben likes that Jennifer is overcoming her fears. They drop in the water and the stress goes away. Ben says that he is starting to see a connection with her. They go on a sky ride and they have fun. Jennifer says that nothing can ruin the date. The lightning roles in and they enjoy dinner. Ben asks about her relationship and she walked away when he told her that he wasn’t going to marry her. She talks about her life and says that she is a type of hard worker. He says that he needs a flexible girl. The rain comes and Ben loves it. Back at the house, the girls talk about Jennifer and Courtney says that she more natural with me. Monica tells Emily that Courtney is evil. The girls say that her true colors will shows.

Back on the date, Jennifer says that she is having fun on their date. He goes back to the rose and gives it to her. He says that he likes the flow that he has with her. They get to a concert where Clay Walker is playing. He says that he doesn’t want the night to be over. Ben starts dancing with Jennifer and she says that it was a magical night. Jennifer says that she would be the perfect partner for him. Ben says that Jennifer is great and he says that he is looking forward to spending more time with her. They get home and they get ready for the cocktail party. Ben comes up and says that he wanted to thank the girls for being open and says that it is getting harder for him to come to grips of what is the best pick. Emily is upset about Courtney and says that Courtney is stone cold on the inside. Nicki says that she knows that Emily cares about him. She sits down with Ben and tells him that Courtney is different around him then she is about the other girls. Emily says that she wanted to know about why Courtney got the rose. He tells her that she will go crazy if she reads too much into this. Emily gets scared that she is going to go home tonight.

She tells the other girls that her talk with Ben about Courtney and Casey S. defends her and Emily says that she is rude. She says that she is sweet with her and Emily says that she is not good. Casey S. excuses herself and goes to Courtney. Casey S. tells Courtney that Emily talked about Courtney to Ben and it seemed that Ben didn’t like the conversation. Courtney is not happy and says that she better watch herself. Nicki gets taken upstairs with Ben and she kisses him. She says that she is head over heals with Ben. Emily sweats and says that she might have made the wrong move and hates that she did it. Courtney comes over to Emily and they stare each other down. Kacie B. asks if they have learned more about themselves in the past weeks then years. Courtney comes clean that she is laughing at Emily. She acts confused and Emily tells them that they are not in 5th grade anymore. Monica tells her not to be brought down by this.

Ben comes back downstairs and Chris comes in and says that it is time for the Rose Ceremony. There are 8 roses that are going to be handed out. Ben comes up and says that he knows that love is in his future. The first rose goes to Lindzi C. The next rose goes to Jamie. The third rose goes to Nicki. The next rose goes to Kacie B. The fifth rose goes to Elyse. The next rose goes to Blakeley. The seventh rose goes to Casey S. The final rose goes to Emily. This leaves Monica to be eliminated. She hugs him goodbye. She says that she wants everything, but wants it to last. She breaks down. Afterward, Ben tells the 12 girls left that they are going to Puerto Rico! Courtney says that she has already been there. The episode ends.
