Tony demands protection money from John Grayson, leaving Dick with much anger. Dick lunges at Tony and he begins to fight with him and all of Tony’s gang members using his acrobatic skills to fight them. Dick gets taken down by Zucco, leaving John to defend his son. Batman shows up saying that he intercepted the call, and he fights Zucco and his gang. Batman manages to take down one of Zucco’s brothers, though Zucco and the rest escape. Episode Notes
Robin debuts in this episode.
The Robin design is based off of the one in Teen Titans.
Kevin Conroy played Batman in the 1992 television hit, Batman: The Animated Series. Mark Hamill played the Joker in the same television show, as well. The appearance of these two in this episode seems to be a nod at this show's inspiration.
In the comic books, Robin was the first partner to Batman, not the second.
A couple of scenes from this episode where shown during a preview video at the San Diego comic book convention.
Dick's parents are named John and Mary Grayson.
Tony Zucco makes his first appearance in continuity.
Robin's costume alludes to the original Dick Grayson costume from the comic books... if you look hard you can see young Robin wearing pixie boots.
Batman's jaw is a little more squared in this episode, and the rest of the season.
Clips of Robin were added to the main sequence.
Episode Quotes

Analysis
Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil:
Many fans believe that the reason that these two people where added to the cast for this season was to give fans of the DCAU a nod to the two most well-known voice actors of the entire continuity.
Batman's Robin's Father?:
By placing Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman, as the voice of John Grayson, the creators are kind of making it seem as though Batman is Robin's father... anothing interesting fact would be that by having Mark Hamill play Tony Zucco, they are also making it seem as though Batman was killed by the Joker.
The Funeral:
At the funeral of John and Mary Grayson, it is raining. During Thomas and Martha Wayne's funeral, it was also raining based off of various Batman mythos...
