The Joining (2) - Recap

Atop Wayne Industries, the Joining robots attack Batman and J'onn while the alien ships spread out across the platform. Batman blows a hole in the roof and escapes downward with Lucius, while J'onn holds off the robots long enough for them to escape in the Batmobile. Batgirl and Robin are waiting in the Batcave when Batman returns and informs them of what's going on. Batman tries to analyze the anti-gravity problem while the replicant Lucius head informs them that the Joining cannot be defeated.

Commissioner Gordon and his men try to stop the Joining without success, while Batman discovers a way to cause the anti-grav platforms to fall apart based on a failsafe he had installed in the Wayne Industries technology. He'll need to send the failsafe signal through a satellite relay at Wayne Industries and insists on going alone so the others don't slow him down. J'onn insists on going along and as they leave says that Batman will have to work with others to defeat the Joining. Alfred tells Batgirl and Robin to disobey Batman's orders and help him, then teams up with Lucius to battle the Joining.

The Joker and the other Gotham villains are forced to aid Commision Gordon and his men, since the Joining will destroy them all. Batman gets to the Wayne Industries satellite relay, using a short-range handheld device to deactivate the Joining's sentry robots. He tries to activate the signal but the Joining has blocked the signal. Batman contacts Alfred who says that Lucius can access the system but Batman will need to hack the system from inside. Fortunately Batgirl and Robin show up and hold off the robots while Batman hacks into the system to give Lucius access. J'onn fights his way in past the remaining sentry robots and together they hold off the Joining long enough for Batman to access the system just as the Joining ships prepare to band together and wipe out humanity with their superweapon. The ships crash to earth, shut down for good.

As reconstruction efforts begin, Batman meets with J'onn and admits that there's something to working as a team. J'onn asks him to join the "others" and they teleport up to a space station where other heroes are gathered: Green Arrow, Hawkman, the Flash, and Green Lantern. Batman knows all about them, having hacked their computer systems as a precaution. However, he admits that it's now time for all of them to get to work... together.
