Lost Heroes (2) - Recap

<-- Previous Episode
As the other Justice League members look on, Green Arrow knocks the Flash android down with an arrow. They realize that the androids are still learning to use their powers and head for a flight module that Strange used to abduct the heroes. Batman flies them out but the Superman and Green Lantern androids attack the ship. Batman hits the accelerator and they fly out through the closing doors, brushing off the androids. Batman disables the on-board tracking device and then has everyone close his eyes while he flies to the hidden Batcave beneath Wayne Industries. He has his cowl lined with an anti-jamming device so the Martian Manhunter android can't telepathically locate him, and the others don't know where he's going. Once inside the base, an electronic grid protects all of them from telepathic detection. Batgirl is waiting for them, having been put on standby earlier by Batman.

Hugo Strange gives his Joining allies a report and they insist that he dispose of the Justice League. In return, Strange bargains for the promised universal knowledge and the Joining send him a robot which downloads the information directly into his mind. Strange collapses, unconscious, and the Joining sends the League androids to find and destroy their counterparts.

Batman has developed weapons taking advantage of all the super-powered League members' weaknesses and has them practice. The League androids spread throughout the city, spreading devastation in their wakes. The heroes go after their counterparts and initially are able to restrain or immobilize their duplicates. However, the androids quickly adapt and start to gain the advantage. Robin, wearing a jet pack, tries to hold off the Superman android and realizes that the energy conduit in its chest is the key to defeating it. He passes the information on to the others, and starting with the Flash the heroes plunge their hands into their counterparts' chest, regaining their powers. Only the Martian Manhunter android catches on thanks to its telepathy, but Hawkman manages to bring it down long enough for J'onn to regain his powers as well. With some help from Robin and Batgirl, Superman is the last to defeat his counterpart and toss it over the horizon.

The assembled League go back to Strange's air raid shelter only to find himself comatose from the information placed in his mind. Scanning his mind, J'onn realizes that the Joining invasion fleet is on its way and the androids were only the advance force. Superman and Green Lantern fly up into orbit to try and stop it but it releases thousands of drone units which get past the heroes and into Earth's atmosphere. Green Arrow, Hawkman, and the Flash take them on while Batman comes up with a plan: the shutdown code for the Joining must be part of the knowledge implanted in Strange's mind. J'onn needs to telepathically recover the information and then send it to the invaders, disabling them. They go to work but one of the Joining robots recovers and attacks. Batman and Robin try to hold it off but end up knocking it into the power-absorbing system that held the League. The robot gains all the powers of the League and easily knocks aside Batman and Robin. It takes out the Martian Manhunter but Batman delays it just long enough for Batgirl to finish sending the signal. All of the Joining fleet instantly shut down and Green Lantern throws them into the sun, destroying the menace once and for all.

Later at the Justice League headquarters in orbit, the super-powered members thank Green Arrow and Batman for coming to their aid. Robin and Batgirl admire the view of Earth and boast about being junior Justice League members. Batman says not to count on it... yet. The trio look down on the Earth, safe once more.
