The Big Bang Theory: The Hamburger Postulate

Playing with salt and pepper shakers at the Cheesecake Factory, the guys are forced to order or leave, and they decide to order. But Sheldon hasn’t eaten at the Factory before and therefore doesn’t know what’s good. Ending the argument, Leslie Winkle sees Leonard and asks if he wants to play the cello in a musical ensemble, an offer that Leonard agrees to, and the first practice is at his apartment. The practice doesn't turn out exactly as planned, however, when it turns into a sexual encounter. Sheldon, who has no experience being in the situation of knowing someone is just a few feet away making love, seeks wisdom from Penny.

Episode Quotes
(The gang is wasting time at a table in Penny's restaurant.)
Penny: Alright, my boss says you either have to order or leave and never come back.
Howard: (Looking at the menu) What do you recommend for someone who worked up a man-sized appetite from a morning of weight training and cardio funk?
Penny: A shower.

Leonard: Leslie and I do research together at the university.
Penny: Oh, wow! A girl scientist!
Leslie Winkle: Yep. Come for the breasts, stay for the brains.

Penny: Leonard, I didn't know you played the cello.
Leonard: Yeah, my parents felt that naming me Leonard and putting me in advanced placement classes wasn't getting me beaten up enough.

(Leonard is playing the cello.)
Leslie Winkle: I admire your fingering.
Leonard: Thank you.
Leslie Winkle: Maybe sometime you can try that on my instrument.

Leonard: I thought you weren't interested in me.
Leslie Winkle: That was before I saw you handling that beautiful piece of wood between your legs.
Leonard: You mean my cello...
Leslie Winkle: No, I mean the obvious crude double entendre.
