The guys are performing a new scientific experiment, that includes sending a message around the world from their computer and, without using the remote, control any electricity in the room they’re in. While cleaning up afterwards, Leonard discovers a note from a science company wanting him and Sheldon to present one of their experiments. However, Sheldon does not want to present the case, while Leonard is quite happy and decides to do it, with Sheldon forbidding him to do so.

Episode Quotes

Howard: Gentlemen, I am about to send a signal from this laptop through our local ISP, racing down fiber-optic cable at the speed of light to San Francisco, bouncing off a satellite in geosynchronous orbit to Lisbon, Portugal, where the data packets will be handed off to submerged transatlantic cables, terminating in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and transferred across the continent via microwave relays back to our ISP and the external receiver attached to this... (works successfully) lamp!

Sheldon: Leonard, don't take this the wrong way, but the day you win a Nobel Prize is the day I begin my research on the drag coefficient of tassels on flying carpets.

Leonard: (wanting to go to a science meeting) Sheldon, we have to do this.
Sheldon: (not wanting to go to a science meeting) No, we don't. We have to take in nourishment, expel waste and inhale enough oxygen to keep our cells from dying. Everything else is optional.

(Changing clothes in front of Penny while she is turning her body another way.)
Penny: Don't worry, I won't look.
Leonard: I know you won't. Why would you look? There's nothing to see. Not noth...
Penny: Sweetie, put the pants on!!

Episode Goofs

Howard takes a photo of Penny who has fallen asleep on him at Leonard's presentation. However, on the phone he uses, a Nokia N95, the camera is on the back but Howard faces the front towards him while taking the photo.

When Penny and Sheldon are walking up the stairs, Sheldon stops a short moment, but long enough for Penny to reach the next set of stairs. However, when the camera angle changes, Sheldon is next to Penny again and they are both walking up the next set of stairs at the same time.

The video Howard plays on YouTube is different from what actually happened, and not just the angle, but several minor differences that can easily be detected if you watch closely.

Episode References

When Penny is holding up Leonard's "Battlestar Galactica" flight suit, she asks why he didn't wear it to Halloween. This is a reference to an earlier episode, in which the guys attended Penny's Halloween party. Instead of the BG suit, Leonard dressed up in a ridiculous Frodo Baggins (from Lord of the Rings) costume.
