Episode Summary |
| |
Alan Gabriel takes Beck Gold out of his prison cell and offers to let him go for good if he does the Paradigm Corporation a small favor: capturing Dorothy Wayneright, in which Beck accepts because he’s in no position to decline the offer. Since Roger was away visiting Gordon Rosewater, Norman is left to defend the Smith estate from the onslaught of armed machines, though his ammo supplies soon start to run dry as he hopes Roger will return in time to save the day. | There are no foreign summaries for this episode Contribute Here |

Episode Quotes |
| |
Alan Gabriel: So, this is Jason Beck?
Beck: Who the hell are you? If you wanna talk to me, I suggest you take off that stupid mask.
Alan Gabriel: You’re nothing but a pathetic, worthless criminal. What you call talent, my dear fellow, is nothing but meager snippets of memories inside you.
Beck: What’d you say, you bastard?!
Alan Gabriel: And what do you know, there’s someone who believes they can use that to their advantage.
Beck: Huh? | Gordon Rosewater: Harvest time is near. When you see a crop that’s been brought up with tender loving care, mature and ripened, it’s a miracle; created by diving fate, a dash of human intelligence and some labor.
Alex Rosewater: Dad, what I need to know is…
Gordon Rosewater: (interrupting) Tell me, what do you do to earn your daily bread? Living off the sweat of your brow, like we do here, is quite pleasant.
Alex Rosewater: I’m your son, dad; I run and manage the Paradigm Corporation.
Gordon Rosewater: I hope the harvest this year puts enough food on many tables as it possibly can. | Alex Rosewater: Dad, you know you never once held me in your arms, as would a father to a son. I don’t really mind, really, but what is it that’s deep down in your memories? Please don’t take all the memories you have, from when you built this town, to your grave.
Gordon Rosewater: Oh yes, you’re my son, aren’t you? All of you here, you’re all my beloved sons and daughters.
Alex Rosewater: (crying) I love you, dad. | Alan Gabriel: Nothing to worry about; the throat of Alex Rosewater could be slit at any time.
Vera: You do understand, most of our compatriots here have been captured by Alex Rosewater, and since I have not yet given the signal that I have achieved success, The union will give up on the memories and turn this place back into the wasteland it once was!
Alan Gabriel: Memories? There are none, there never were. | Roger: The message which Angel entrusted to Dorothy. Memories, the people who want them so badly; I’ve always fought against those who would try to reawaken whatever it was that made the city lose its memory, and here I am, once again wondering. Will memories give me no choice but to play out the role of Roger Smith on the stage we call Paradigm City? |
