The Big O (US) Episode Guide

1 :01x01 - Roger the Negotiator

Roger Smith, one of Paradigm City’s top negotiators, is hired to negotiate the release of a man’s daughter. While things go smoothly for him at first, he discovers that the woman he actually released was an android, in which he believes that the kidnappers must still have the man’s real daughter. Unfortunately for Roger, the android refuses to leave him alone, though things become even more problematic when the android hires him as her bodyguard.



2 :01x02 - Dorothy, Dorothy

After fighting another MegaDeus in Big O, Roger realizes that Dorothy has gone missing and he decides to look for her in order to ensure her safety. He discovers that she has gone to find her creator, a man named Wayneright, though things heat up for Roger and Dorothy when Beck appears and attempts to take Dorothy back.



3 :01x03 - Electric City

Paradigm City has been plagued by a recent string of power outages recently, which have caused the citizens of the city some discomfort. The Paradigm Corporation hires Roger Smith to head to Electric City in order to negotiate with the workers of the power plant, as they are the reason that the power outages have been taking place. However, he discovers that their reasons for refusing to operate all the power plants may be more serious than he had expected.



4 :01x04 - Underground Terror

The Paradigm Corporation decides to hire Roger Smith for another assignment, in which he is requested to track down Michael Seebach and obtain a manuscript that he was supposed to send in to his superiors. However, Michael Seebach has been missing for months and Roger isn’t certain where exactly he should go, though when he receives a tip from Dan Dastun, what he discovers shocks him.



5 :01x05 - Bring Back My Ghost

Roger Smith is hired by a billionaire who wishes to find her long lost son, though her son was allegedly killed during a riot that took place on a bridge many years earlier. Roger decides to take on the case, despite the bizarre circumstances behind it, though he soon comes to suspect that her missing son may have something to do with a recent string of accidents that have been affecting military vehicles on the very bridge he disappeared on.



6 :01x06 - A Legacy of Amadeus

Tired of being woken up every morning by Dorothy’s loud playing of the piano, Roger decides to take Dorothy to an old friend of his, Instro, who is a brilliant android musician. Instro agrees to teach Dorothy how to play, though when a mysterious individual barges into Instro’s bar and demands that he fulfill his father’s true wishes, Roger decides to investigate the issue as he believes Instro may do something that he’ll seriously regret.



7 :01x07 - The Call from the Past

First aired: Apr/10/2001

Roger Smith has taken on a negotiation in order to attempt to get the price of fish lowered, though he discovers that the fishermen are actually afraid of going into the water due to a sea serpent’s existence. In order to try to get to the bottom of the issue, Roger decides to rent an innovative machine that will let him travel underwater, though when Angel attempts to steal it from him, the two find themselves working together in order to stay alive.



8 :01x08 - Missing Cat

When Dorothy is on her way back to Roger’s place, she discovers an abandoned cat and she decides to take it with her, though Roger refuses to let her keep it and he demands that she find the owner. When the owners arrive, they express that the cat is tremendously important to them, though a strange device shows up and assassinates one of the owners right in front of Roger. To make matters even worse, the machine picks up Dorothy and takes her back to where it came, along with the pet cat that Dorothy was holding, so Roger must track the device down and get to the bottom of the issue.



9 :01x09 - Beck Comes Back

Roger is hired by a rich industrialist in hopes of returning his son back to him, though Roger’s unique negotiation tactics soon result in him getting fired. However, when the individual re-hires Roger, he decides to go meet the kidnappers in person in order to directly negotiate the hostage’s release. Unfortunately for Roger, he discovers that Beck was behind the kidnappings and that he had tricked him into coming to the cabin in order to frame him for the kidnapping.



10 :01x10 - Winter Night Phantom

First aired: Apr/13/2001

Major Dan Dastun has been having some dreams recently, in which he believes they may just be memories from his past, though he cannot comprehend certain elements of the dream so he has ignored them for as long as he could. However, when investigating the scene of a bombing attack, he believes that he sees a woman who looks identical to the woman who appeared in his dream. Unfortunately, his claims get him suspended from the military police and he is taken off the case, though when he confides his findings in Roger, he learns something about the woman that may just help him put an end to the bombing attacks that have been taking place.



11 :01x11 - Daemonseed

Guest star: Michelle Ruff (Laura)

A Paradigm City holiday called Heaven’s Day is approaching and the entire city is in a festive spirit, though Roger Smith’s negotiation abilities don’t often permit him to find times to relax. Alex Rosewater, the president of the Paradigm Corporation, personally hires him to investigate a threat that had been made against the city a few days earlier. Roger agrees to take on the case and he begins asking around for information, though Dorothy turns out to be the one who actually points him in the right direction.



12 :01x12 - Enemy Is Another Big

First aired: Apr/17/2001

The Paradigm Corporation forces Roger Smith to take on another assignment, claiming that his failure to previously retrieve Michael Seebach’s manuscript warrants him to continue his assignment. They wish for him to give Michael Seebach a check that would make amends for what the city has done to him, though when Roger heads off to find Michael Seebach, he discovers that he has found yet another MegaDeus and he plans on putting an end to Roger’s role as the watchdog of Paradigm City.



13 :01x13 - RD

After speaking with Gordon Rosewater, Roger begins to doubt his own existence as he attempts to deal with some strange memories that he has been having. In an attempt to determine the truth, Roger heads to one of the buildings from his memories and he takes a book entitled Metropolis. However, when he finds himself dazing in and out of consciousness, he finds himself being pursued by an individual who has committed many gruesome murders all across Paradigm City.



14 :02x01 - Roger the Wanderer

During a fight with three MegaDeuses, Roger begins to lose consciousness and he awakes to discover that he’s in Paradigm City. However, this Paradigm City isn’t like the one he used to know, as there are no domes and everybody seems to actually have their memories. Roger attempts to figure out why his is in this strange place and how he can get back to the real world, though as he recalls back on his life, he once again begins to question his own existence.



15 :02x02 - Negotiations with the Dead

Many retired senators have been assassinated recently, so Roger is hired to try to negotiate with the assassin in an attempt to spare an elderly statesman’s life. However, when he discovers that the assassin is connected to many of the previous attacks on Paradigm, he decides to investigate a tip that may just point him in the right direction, though things take a turn for the worse when he realizes that Dorothy’s creator may have been involved in what is taking place.



16 :02x03 - Day of the Advent

Roger is hired by some townspeople when the Paradigm Corporation confiscates a mysterious object that has fallen from the sky. The citizens believe the object is a sign of prosperity and that good things are on their way, though the fact that the Paradigm Corporation took the object troubles them. Roger decides to investigate the issue and negotiate with the Paradigm Corporation in order to see what the object really is, though what he discovers puts both him and Angel in jeopardy.



17 :02x04 - Leviathan

First aired: Aug/24/2003

Michael Seebach has been spreading pamphlets that speak of the world’s end, in which Roger is hired to figure out the true purpose of the pamphlets. However, when he decides to look around in areas where he isn’t permitted to be, he discovers what Alex Rosewater has actually been doing and he isn’t too happy about it. Meanwhile, the MegaDeus Leviathan is coming ever closer to Paradigm City and with Roger still at Alex’s place, Dan Dastun decides to do what he can to slow Leviathan down.



18 :02x05 - The Greatest Villian

Things take a turn for the worse as the Smith estate when Roger mysteriously goes missing during a meeting with some foreign individuals. In hopes of finding the criminal, Dan Dastun and Norman set up a system of trying to locate the criminals, though when Dorothy decides to take up the role of Negotiator, Roger finds the roles reversed as it’s up to her to come to his rescue.



19 :02x06 - Eyewitness

There has been an assassin in Paradigm City who has only been targeting androids, though the military police are baffled. The Paradigm Corporation sends their own private detective in order to assist Dan Dastun in the investigation, though the two don’t get along too well and they each have their own methods of investigation. However, the two get a break in the case when Dorothy manages to get a visual recording of the assassin, though as they head off to investigate, Roger tries to figure out a method of getting Dorothy out of the police precinct.



20 :02x07 - Stripes

After speaking with Gordon Rosewater, Roger begins to contemplate on his own existence, though Angel soon shows up and offers him some comfort. Meanwhile, Dorothy is attempting to find the source of a song she has been hearing, though what Dorothy discovers may just put her life in jeopardy. To make matters worse for Roger, another MegaDeus has been seen roaming through the city, in which it is attempting to destroy the Paradigm Corporation.



21 :02x08 - The Third Big

Guest star: Carolyn Hennesy (Vera Ronstadt)

Roger discovers that Dorothy is in danger and he takes Big O’s advice and heads off to rescue her. He commandeers Dan Dastun’s police vehicle and rushes to the subway tunnel that she is located in, though when he arrives, he discovers that a twisted individual named Alan Gabriel is responsible for many of the strange events that have been taking place recently. Roger rushes back to finish his fight with the MegaDeus after the encounter, though the arrival of Alex Rosewater’s own Big causes him to change his plans.



22 :02x09 - Hydra

After discovering that Alex Rosewater’s Big Fau is incomplete, Roger decides to accept his invitation to dinner in order to better understand what his true intentions are. Meanwhile, Angel visits the Smith estate in hopes of speaking to Roger, though when she discovers that Roger isn’t there, she decides to speak with Dorothy about the events that had occurred several days earlier.



23 :02x10 - Twisted Memories

First aired: Oct/05/2003

Alan Gabriel takes Beck Gold out of his prison cell and offers to let him go for good if he does the Paradigm Corporation a small favor: capturing Dorothy Wayneright, in which Beck accepts because he’s in no position to decline the offer. Since Roger was away visiting Gordon Rosewater, Norman is left to defend the Smith estate from the onslaught of armed machines, though his ammo supplies soon start to run dry as he hopes Roger will return in time to save the day.



24 :02x11 - The Big Fight

Much to Roger’s surprise, Big Duo is fully functional again and it has gotten in Roger’s way in order to prevent him from going after Dorothy. The Big Duo has improved quite a lot since Roger’s last fight, though Roger is determined to get Dorothy back and he does everything he can in order to get past Big Duo, though he gets some unexpected help from a former enemy. Meanwhile, Alex Rosewater attempts to get Beck to help him finish Big Fau, though Beck continues to contemplate if he should really go so low as to help him obtain what he wants.



25 :02x12 - The War of Paradigm City

Alex Rosewater begins to establish his new world order, as with the full functionality of Big Fau, he considers himself the world’s god and he plans to re-craft the world in order to make the perfect utopia. Meanwhile, Gordon Rosewater tells Roger, Angel and Vera the truth about Paradigm City and their own existence, though the new information proves to be too much for Angel to handle.



26 :02x13 - The Show Must Go On

Roger Smith must do everything he can in order to stop Alex Rosewater from completing his mad vision of utopia, though Big Fau proves to be a tougher opponent than anything he’s fought before. When all hope seems lost for Roger, many of his friends come together in order to do what they can to help him succeed, though will their strengths be enough to warrant victory? Meanwhile, Gordon Rosewater takes Angel to the place where the world was created, in which he reveals to her the true scope of her purpose, though what Angel decides to do next will be the ultimate factor in what happens to Paradigm City.
