Jaime Sommers, childhood sweetheart of Steve Austin (The Six Million Dollar Man), suffered a near-fatal parachuting accident. Her right arm, both legs and right ear was replaced with a bionic replacement. Her body rejected the bionic parts and she almost died. With more surgeries she survived the bionic procedure but with a partial loss of memory. She moved to Ojai, CA and does assignments for the OSI at the same time she is a 6th and 7th grade school teacher.

Jaime resigns from the O.S.I. to find her own way through life. But later, Oscar informs her that the government has decided the risk of her capture is too great, and so it intends to move her to a special compound for retired agents - a place she can never leave. Outraged, she runs for it, instead...

1x4: A Thing of the Past recap: Unknown to Jaime Sommers, a beloved schoolbus driver who has been hiding out in Ojai for years, is tracked down by feared underworld leaders on the ABC Television Network's "The Bionic Woman" Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1976.
In the episode, Donald O'Connor guest stars as bus driver Harry Anderson and Lee Majors makes a special guest appearance as Steve Austin, "The Six Million Dollar Man."
In "A Thing of the Past." Jaime and Harry are returning with her students from a picnic when the bus is involved in an accident and Harry rescues a little girl from the burning vehicle. When his picture appears in a newspaper as a local hero, Harry, who has been living under an assumed name, fears that former underworld connections will learn his true identity. His fears are realized when information on his whereabouts is forwarded to a gangland figure in Chicago... read more.
