Maggie phones James in front of Sheila and invites herself for dinner, telling Sheila that James and the baby are all hers. After the initial surprise, Ridge is ready to toast Brooke and Taylor, the expectant mothers. Ridge realizes that Stephanie believes Brooke is lying. Stephanie is sure there's more to it, but she's not sure what. Ridge shares his excitement with Taylor, pointing out they will each have the child they always wanted. Thorne starts to ask Brooke if she's really pregnant but decides he doesn't really want to know. Taylor gives Brooke an ultimatum: prove she's pregnant before the wedding, or Taylor tells Ridge about her own baby.

She asks Katie to mention the babysitting job again to Brooke. Macy is sympathetic to Amber's situation and promises her the next job that comes along. Meanwhile, she hands Amber the microphone and lets her realize her dream of singing on stage. Sheila tries to remember where she's seen her surroundings before. She convinces Mike to come close to her and, saying she wants him, asks him to unstrap her. Maggie talks a reluctant James into letting her in to see the baby. James points out to her that they see Sheila differently. Maggie asks James how he feels about their own relationship. Maggie tells him how much she's missed the physical side of their relationship, but before they can act on it, James asks her to leave. As she leaves, she promises herself that she will win him back.

Ridge points out that the wedding isn't just about Brooke and him; it's about all of them becoming a family again. Taylor tells Thorne that Brooke's trick backfired. Now, she's determined to prove Brooke is lying and stop the wedding. Taylor phones Brooke and insists she come over, even though Brooke is with her parents and siblings. Brooke insists that Ridge loves her and can't understand why Taylor would want to ruin her wedding day. Taylor swears that even if Ridge decides not to come back to her, she is going to bring Brooke down and enjoy every minute of it. She wants Brooke to have a blood test, proving she's pregnant, or she will stand up in the church when the minister asks if anyone objects to the marriage.

Brooke tells her mother that Taylor wants Ridge back, but, not knowing the whole truth, Beth can't see that Taylor is any kind of the threat. Amber, ready to leave town, stops by to say good-bye to Macy and Grant. Stephanie urges Ridge to find out what Taylor was trying to tell him when Brooke interrupted, but Ridge warns Stephanie not to interfere. Beth sees that Brooke is stressed out and asks her to reconsider her and Ridge's decision not to go on a honeymoon. Realizing that getting Ridge out of town for a few days might be the answer, Brooke books a flight to Milan so they can return to the Villa D'Este...and decides to move up the time of the wedding so they can make the flight. Then she phones Taylor and tells her she's taking a blood test and to meet her at a restaurant at 1:00. Meanwhile, Beth realizes they'll need help with the children, and catches Amber just as she's leaving to offer her the job. When Stephanie hears that Brooke has changed the time of the wedding, she figures out that Brooke is trying to keep Taylor from showing up at the wedding.

Amber is introduced to Bridget and Rick, and, having expected toddlers, is a little surprised to see how old they are. Stephanie wonders where Thorne and Taylor are, certain they are not stuck in traffic and equally certain that Brooke knows where they really are. Brooke is evasive. Stephanie promises her that she'll find out what's going on and, even if Brooke pulls off the wedding, she'd better enjoy it while she can because Stephanie will see to it that the marriage won't last. Taylor checks for messages and finds out the wedding has been moved up. She and Thorne rush out of the restaurant as the minister begins the ceremony.

Thorne stops the car as Taylor begins to push. Sally reads about the wedding and, sensing a scandal, they approach Stephanie's hairdresser, Deane. He reveals nothing, but Sally and Lauren are convinced it must be something big if Taylor has given Ridge up to Brooke.

Thorne helps Taylor deliver her baby, a boy, in the back of the car. Thorne takes them to the hospital. The doctor checks out the baby, who is fine. Taylor tries to call Ridge but is told he's left on his honeymoon. She promises her newborn son that, one day, he will know his father.

At Mannequins, Martin approaches James, telling him he has information about his wife. Martin explains that Sheila has regressed, but is in good hands. Mike is worried when he hears that Martin might have met James at a bar because he is a recovering alcoholic. James orders a round of drinks, not knowing how he is tempting Martin. Before Rick and Bridget start their homework, Amber wants the grand tour of the house. Amber starts a pillow fight, and is horrified when the Logans return early from dinner. She stalls them outside, and is surprised and relieved to find out that Rick and Bridget have cleaned up and cover for her.

Maggie becomes more alarmed when Mike explains that when Martin drinks he gets emotional and "chatty." They rush to Mannequins and get Marty's attention just in time. They hustle him out of the bar before he can reassure James, who's blaming himself for Sheila's predicament. Ridge and Brooke are enjoying their honeymoon in Lake Como but Brooke convinces Ridge not to call and see why Thorne and Taylor never made it to the wedding.

She tells him to find a girl his own age. Eric goes to see Lauren, who realizes they're both going through the same thing and suffering the same fears. Lauren is overcome by her anxieties and begs Eric to hold her.

She apologizes if she embarrassed him, but it's too late. Rick promises that she's history. Certain she's about to get canned, Amber implores Grant to let her sing when Macy is between sets, but he tells her no. Clarke joins her and points out her mistake in reprimanding Rick; he's a meal-ticket waiting to be cashed! Desperate to come up with the money for a demo record, Amber wonders what she can do to set things right with Rick before Brooke calls. James tries to find a listing for Dr. Guthrini.

Sheila tells Mike that she'll never be able to give him the kind of love he deserves, but if he's really her friend, he'll help her stop Maggie. When no one's looking, she continues to cut at her bindings with the scalpel, and finally frees her hand. Meanwhile, an inebriated Marty plays a prank on Mike, pretending to attack him in the shower a la Hitchcock.

Brooke's call interrupts them, but Amber is relieved and pleased when Rick tells Brooke that Amber's doing a good job as a sitter. When Marty returns, chuckling about the trick he pulled on Mike, Sheila, pretending to still be restrained, waits for her chance, kicks Martin backwards and knocks him out with a vase. Mike and Maggie walk in together, Maggie excited about James' plan, and realize Sheila has escaped. With Maggie and Mike in hot pursuit, Sheila tries to call James.

Brooke contacts Thorne and is stunned to hear Taylor had the baby --and that Thorne delivered him. Brooke shares the news with Ridge. After Brooke begs him to get through to Taylor, Thorne promises the nurse Taylor will complete the birth certificate today. He tells Taylor she can have the kind of life she always wanted without Ridge. Thorne is shocked when she sees what Taylor wrote on the birth certificate. Mike and Maggie continue chasing Sheila and finally catch her, take her back, and sedate her.

Taylor insists on leaving the father's name blank on the birth certificate, which doesn't sit well with Thorne. When he realizes Taylor feels he's trying to manipulate her, he's stung. Taylor insists she has to figure out what she wants for herself without pressure from him. She's going to take the baby to visit her father for a while. Thorne can't believe that, after all he's done, he's being treated like the bad guy now. Ridge calls home and is surprised that Eric and Stephanie haven't heard Thorne's news. Eric admonishes Stephanie when she expresses her doubts about Brooke's pregnancy to Ridge, and warns her that she will alienate their son. Lauren ventures out to the Insomnia to meet Sally and is horrified to see someone who looks like Rush at a table near hers. She immediately phones Eric. Stephanie visits Taylor at the hospital and confirms that Brooke never told them that she'd moved up the wedding an hour. Ridge hears an anguished cry and Brooke stumbles out of the bathroom.

Taylor tells Stephanie she wants to see Ridge and Brooke before she leaves town. Through sobs, Brooke tells Ridge she lost the baby. He comforts her, both of them deeply disappointed. Brooke dreads telling everyone back home that she's not pregnant. Eric tries to convince Lauren that she was hallucinating, but she insists that she just saw Rush. He calls the FBI agent on that case, but he admits the body was never found. Eric shaves off his beard to help them let go of their Greenland experience. He explains that he saw a doctor and they are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, and may need counseling. Thinking Eric is returning, Lauren opens her door--to Rush!

He explains that he was close to Sharon, the woman Rush murdered, and apologizes for the nightmare Rush put her through. He gives her his phone number. Sally, Macy and Grant wonder how they can help Lauren recover from her ordeal. Macy and Grant share a kiss. Macy tells Grant not to give up on her. C.J. can hardly believe it when Rick tells him he slow danced with Amber. Clarke urges Amber to find a way to become indispensable so her gig as sitter doesn't end when Brooke comes home. Amber wants time alone with Rick, knowing she'll be out of a job soon. Rick offers to help her find something and Amber kisses him.

James spots Marty in Mannequins and decides to follow him, certain it's his last chance to find Sheila. While Maggie packs, James arrives at the house where Sheila is being held. When Sheila hears that James is moving back in with Maggie, she begs Mike to set her free. Mike tells her he can't, and someday she'll thank him. Taylor phones Brooke and tells her that she and the baby are on their way over. Brooke reminds Ridge that they decided not to say anything yet about her miscarriage.

Mike and Marty see James approach and are ready to finish him off, but James wins the battle and knocks both of them out before freeing a sobbing Sheila. Stephanie questions Thorne about Taylor's decision to leave town. Thorne is freaked when he finds out Taylor is on her way with the baby to see Ridge and Brooke. Thorne's reaction makes Stephanie wonder if Brooke is doing some major manipulating at Ridge and Taylor's expense -- and Thorne's a part of it. Taylor places the baby in Ridge's arms. She tells Ridge that she and Thorne missed the wedding because they didn't know about the time change. She pointedly asks Brooke if she's had any morning sickness. Taylor tells Ridge she's going away for a while, but will see him when she returns.

He tells Maggie that Sheila was kidnaped by Mike and his brother. Sheila, looking pointedly at Maggie, says there's something she has to tell him. James is stunned when Sheila tells him there was a third accomplice -- Maggie. Mike and Marty are gathering up evidence as they hear a siren approach. They bail out the window. Lauren bursts in on Eric and Stephanie, begging Eric to help her. She tells her she saw Rush again and that he claimed to be his brother. Stephanie is losing patience until Lauren produces the paper with the phone number. They realize that in order to find out if it's Rush or not, they have to see if he has a scar from being shot with the crossbow. Stephanie isn't happy with Lauren bringing Eric into this and wonders if she really wants it all to end. Lauren arranges for Jonny to meet her that evening.

The police arrive and tell them that, unfortunately, Mike and Marty have escaped. Sheila points out the third accomplice, Maggie, and she is arrested despite her pleas to James. Eric, Lauren, Sally, Stephanie and Lt. Baker gather at Lauren's apartment to find out the truth about Rush's alleged brother. Lauren is frightened about facing him again. Johnny arrives at the door and Lauren convinces him to come into the apartment. He sees the others and thinking he's been ambushed, makes a run for it. Eric tackles him, and Lauren unbuttons Johnny's shirt to check for the telltale scar. Amber made enough money to record the background music for her demo, and Macy lets her sing along with it at the Insomnia.

Rick and Bridget go into action, telling Brooke they want to sign up for after school activities that happen to meet all over town. Brooke realizes she needs someone to help with the driving and decides to rehire Amber. There is no scar on Jonny's chest, which stuns Lauren, Eric and the others. When they are alone, Lauren apologizes. Jonny, wanting to undo the damage his brother has done, invites Lauren to dinner.

She sees Brooke's jewels and picks up a diamond bracelet, realizing it could easily pay for her demo. Brooke asks Ridge how he feels about honesty in a marriage and admits she has a secret she wants to share with him.

When Brooke's bracelet doesn't turn up in the office safe, Brooke and Ridge realize Amber might have had the chance to take it when they were out and the safe in their bedroom was open.

Sheila hires a contractor to work on the house, telling James she wants to add a bedroom for the baby she wants them to have. James is charmed by her enthusiasm for her project and kisses her passionately.

Back at the house, Amber kisses Rick in gratitude, knowing how close she came to blowing it and that her focus needs to be on Rick. Brooke wants to give Amber the benefit of the doubt, but tells Ridge if the bracelet doesn't turn up, they'll have to call the police. Lauren prepares for a romantic evening with Jonny.

At a cabin in Greenland, Rush begins to regain consciousness. Thorne and Brooke realize that it's possible Taylor will decide to tell Ridge about the baby when she finds out Brooke isn't pregnant. Ridge questions Thorne about why he didn't go with Taylor and refuses to leave until Thorne tells him what's going on.

She also tells him she covered for him when the police came looking for a man who had been shot. Rush reaches out to Amur, but knows he's going to hunt for Lauren. Lauren tells Eric about her evening with Jonny, and wonders if he's waiting to marry Stephanie until Lauren's involved with someone. She asks him to give her a kiss for luck and he complies. Lauren is pleased when she finds a bouquet of flowers from Jonny.

Brooke finds the necklace and decides she owes Amber an apology. Amber is about to confess all when she sees that Brooke is wearing the bracelet and Rick came through for her. C.J. tells Rick it's time to cash in on all that gratitude, and tries to instruct him on how to seduce Amber. C.J. gives Rick a 'thumbs up' when he sees Rick and Amber in an embrace. Rick asks her to have dinner with him in his room. Brooke is fuming when Ridge informs her that he invited Eric and Stephanie over to celebrate Stephanie's birthday. Brooke reminds Ridge that Stephanie still doesn't know about her miscarriage and if she starts talking about the baby, Brooke will walk out.

The subject of Brooke's baby comes up and, unable to take Stephanie's insults any longer, Brooke blurts out that she isn't pregnant. Over dinner, Clarke tells C.J., Sally and Macy that he thinks Amber is trouble, especially when he hears about her plans for the evening with Rick. After Rick leads Amber to the bed, Amber plays her game and convinces Rick to help her with her music career. Rick wants to be her manager and assures her he can help her raise money. Amber embraces him.
