Kristen and Tony make dinner plans over the phone, as Clarke lingers in the background. Kristen hopes that Tony will give her an answer to her proposal at dinner tonight. Clarke wonders if Kristen will still be happy while she’s watching Tony die. Kristen asserts that it could be decades before Tony has AIDS, and in that time a cure could be found. Clarke also believes that Kristen and Tony will give into the temptation of sleeping together. When Kristen leaves, Clarke informs Eric of Kristen’s proposal. Eric remembers the conversation he had with Tony. He tries to convince himself that Tony won’t say yes. Clarke feels that if they are going to save Kristen, they have to act now. At Las Olas, Tony greets Kristen and tells her that he has a surprise for her. Kristen would like an answer to her marriage proposal, but is delightfully distracted when trumpeter Arturo Sandoval performs for them. Tony was glad to arrange this night for Kristen because he knew how happy it would make her. Kristen wants to know if he will marry her. Rick barges into Deacon’s house and accuses him of sleeping with Amber. Deacon insists that they never slept together, but Rick doesn’t know why he should believe Amber or Deacon. When Amber arrives, she begs Rick for another chance. Rick can’t muster up any sympathy for her and walks out. Amber bursts into tears.
