Kristen asks Tony to take her to dinner, but Tony isn’t sure he’s ready. Clarke wants Tony to accept the fact that things are not going to work out between Kristen and him because now it’s affecting his work. Clarke baits Tony about his inability to fulfill Kristen’s needs and advises him to stay away from her. Clarke calls Kristen in front of Tony and convinces her to dine with him. Kristen tells Stephanie about Tony’s HIV status. Stephanie is supportive and, knowing how much Kristen loves Tony, wants her to make her own decisions about their future. Despite Tony’s fears, Kristen knows that she is strong enough to put on the brakes when things heat up between them. Rick is worried about Amber’s condition, and reminds Bridget that their first baby died in childbirth. He worries that she might not be able to have more kids. Amber is evasive, then finally admits to Deacon that she’s pregnant. Amber and Deacon are silent, until Amber tries to convince Deacon that she wants her marriage to work. Deacon insists that this isn’t right, and that Amber could do something about it. Deacon tells Amber that any chance they had to be together is history. The baby she’s carrying will change everything. Deacon never realized how much he loves Amber until this moment. Amber agrees, but notes that it’s too late for them now. Deacon kisses her and leaves. Rick comes home and is thrilled by Amber’s news.
