Brooke tells Thorne that there has to be a way to get Bridget away from Deacon. Ridge tells Stephanie he’s certain that Deacon is just conning Bridget. Sensing Brooke’s upset, Ridge goes to her office to offer moral support. Brooke believes that Deacon is going to try to love Bridget, but he will never be able to ignore his passion for Amber. She adds that Bridget deserves the chance to know what true love feels like. Ridge embraces Brooke sympathetically. Brooke thanks Ridge for his support. Thorne decides to take Brooke up to the cabin to give her a break from all the stress. Thorne is stunned when Stephanie reveals that, despite their civil moments, her feelings haven’t changed about Brooke’s marriage to Thorne. Deacon surprises Bridget with breakfast in bed – and a ring, explaining that this time around he wants to do everything right. Deacon feels that no matter what he does, Brooke will always believe that Amber is his soul mate. He decides that he might be able to straighten things out if he can sit down and talk to Brooke one on one. Deacon tries to convince Brooke that he’s committed to Bridget, but Brooke points out that love isn’t something that can be controlled by will. Brooke swears Deacon to secrecy and tells him that, to save her daughter, she’s going to tell him something she’s never shared with anyone.
