Deacon apologizes to Bridget for spoiling their first fancy dinner together. He promises they’ll have desert together when he gets back. Ridge becomes alarmed when Taylor tells him that she’s not pregnant and is worried that she’s had a relapse. Taylor assures him that she’s fine, she just went to see the doctor about possibly going back to work. Brooke tells Eric about Stephanie’s plan to meet with Deacon. Brooke is sure that if Deacon’s as cocky as he was with her, Stephanie should have no trouble getting Deacon to reveal his true feelings for Bridget. Eric is concerned about what will happen if Deacon gets suspicious, but Brooke assures him that Stephanie won’t get caught. He tells Brooke that as soon as Stephanie gets Deacon on tape, they’re bringing Bridget home. Deacon wants to Stephanie to get to the point and tell him how to get Amber back. Stephanie tries to lead him to state his real reason for marrying Bridget. Deacon finally says that he married Bridget for two reasons – to pressure the Forresters to let go of Amber and to secure a place in his son’s life. He adds that he’s not letting go of Bridget until Amber and Little D are living with him. Stephanie is about to leave with the incriminating recording when she and Deacon hear the tape recorder click in her purse.
