With Morgan gone, Stephanie is looking forward to Rick’s wedding. Eric is worried about Deacon and the trouble he could cause. Brooke is having trouble supporting the wedding. She reminds Stephanie how hard she fought to protect her sons and points out that she would never have given in to someone like Amber. Rick shows Amber the wedding announcement in the paper and Amber can’t help but worry about Deacon. Deacon sees the article and calls Bridget, explaining that he has to see her immediately. Bridget hangs up and squeals in excitement, while Deacon tells himself he has to do whatever it takes to stop the wedding. He knows he has to get Bridget under his spell. Bridget comes to his apartment and Deacon explains that despite his efforts to give Little Eric a family, he realized that he and Amber weren’t compatible. Deacon kisses Bridget and she assures him that her family doesn’t have to know about them. Deacon pretends to be hurt that Bridget wants to keep their relationship a secret. He wants to let the world know that she’s his girl and suggests that she take him to the wedding as her date. Thorne is pleased when Rick asks him to be his best man. Rick tells Brooke he wants what she wanted when she and Thorne got married, an end to the bitter rivalry. He asks Brooke to be Amber’s matron of honor.
