In the first season finale, Uncle Ruckus tries to preach the word of white Jesus. His words catch on to a lot of people, causing Granddad and Tom to stop him. Meanwhile, Huey tries to save a friend from being executed.

| Evidence that showed that Shabazz was innocent:
- Eli Gerbinski saying at the scene of the crime that he hates deputy sheriffs, police officers and parking enforcers.
- Eli's verbal confession that he shot Deputy Sheriff Gary Fiegal.
- Several people witnessing the murder.
- 8mm video footage of the murder.
- A stenographer was at the scene and transcribed everything that was said.
- Eli’s written confession typed up by the stenographer, which Eli signed and dated.
- Murder weapons had Eli’s chocolate covered prints all over it.
- Receipt attached to the gun.
- Manufacture warrantee card of the gun which was filled out, signed, and dated by Eli.
- Footage and the stenographer's transcript of the incident was presented at the trial and showed that Deputy Sheriff Gary Fiegal's last words were “Eli Gerbinski killed me.”

John Witherspoon, the voice of Granddad, starred in the movie Friday.
| The trial of Shabazz K. Milton Berle may or may not refer to the trial of Mumia Abu-Jamal, who's execution was also overturned.
| The character Armstrong Elder is a combination of Armstrong Williams and Larry Elder. Armstrong Williams is a black conservative newspaper columnist. Larry Elder is a black conservative radio and TV talk show host.
| Huey: Operation Black Steel, the mission to liberate Shabazz K. Milton Burrow....
This is a reference to the Public Enemy song, "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos." In it, Chuck D raps of being in prison and devising a plan to break out.
