2x7: The Siege at Forli recap: The episode begins with the return of Juan to Rome. His entry into the court of the pope is welcomed by applause from the cardinals. Rodrigo too receives his son with open arms. He has gotten a caged black panther as a gift for his sister. He then introduces a man called Hernando to Rodrigo. Hernando is a Spanish conquistador. Rodrigo then open his box of present, and sees cigars in it. An ignorant Rodrigo is then told by Juan what cigars really are; as Rodrigo has never seen them before. Meanwhile, the panther bites Lucrezia, and she leaves the court in a huff. Juan then proceeds to instruct Rodrigo on how he has to smoke a cigar. Later Juan tells Rodrigo that he has married and also that, his wife is carrying his child... read more.

2x6: Day of Ashes recap: The episode begins with Rodrigo telling the cardinals that God has spoken to them through the latest tragedy that has befallen the church. He then proceeds to wash the feet of one of the devotees who have come to seek his blessings. Giuliano sees this but thinks Rodrigo is only putting up an act. Meanwhile, then friar is rousing the crowds. He converts an aristocratic woman into a nun, by chopping off her locks and asking her to renounce her wealth. She then commits to bringing down the pope. The Medici who are a part of the crowd, are then beaten up by the crowds and driven away. They are discussing how much money the church manages to gather from all its devotees, and how the cardinals enjoy the bounty themselves. Meanwhile, Rodrigo asks Cesare if he is still a cardinal or has he turned into a soldier. Now that he has gotten rid of one enemy, Rodrigo plans to now go after Katarina. Cesare wants to be Rodrigo’s messenger who goes to Katarina and gets her to come and ask Rodrigo’s forgiveness. Micheletto gives Cesare some bad news, about the French attacking a convent. Cesare rides to the convent. Inside he finds Ursula dead. Cesare is livid and tells Micheletto he wants vengeance. Micheletto tells Cesare who amongst the French did it. Cesare tells Micheletto to gather a band of men, who can help him wreak his vengeance. Meanwhile Cesare meets Lucrezia, he tries to take her away from there, but she notices Paolo’s body and runs to it. Lucrezia breaks down on seeing his body.
