Recap
The episode begins with a botched murder attempt on Cardinal Della Rovere. The cardinal is given poison in a communion goblet, but it isn't the full dose; and hence it does not end up having the desired effect, and the cardinal is virtually unaffected. The altar boy who was commissioned by Cesare Borgia to murder the cardinal quickly is given his reward; after he has been captured, for the abject failure of his mission. The boy is drowned in a well outside the church; for his failure to carry out the job, as expected. Meanwhile, bitter sibling rivalry erupts between Cesare and his brother, Juan; as they both seem to be competing for their father’s attention. ..
