Recap

The episode begins with Cesare bringing a poisoned Rodrigo to a physician, who has been summoned to the Pope’s palace. The physician figures out Canterella is the poison that has been used and says there is no way to save Rodrigo, who is quickly fading away. Lucrezia isn’t ready to give up just yet, saying she has heard charcoal can be used as an antidote against the poison. While charcoal is being grounded, mixed with water and forced down Rodrigo’s throat, Cardinal Sforza arrives and hands Cesare a bible that has been recovered from the assassin’s room. ..
