Detective Lt. Provenza, played by G. W. Bailey
Lt. Provenza has seen (and done) nearly everything there is to do when it comes to police work. This alone make him a perfect choice when it comes to his placement in the PHD.
Lt. Provenza, however, is not above the occasional wisecrack and the sly attempt to uncover information (such as using wires to his advantage). He is the first to warm up to Brenda's style of leadership though he manages to make reference to her quirks in intervals (often in jest). It was Provenza who hatched the plan to save Brenda's job from the vengeful Comdr. Taylor, and Brenda "repaid" the favor by helping get both him and Lt. Flynn out of the fire when they found (and left) a body lying in his garage.
He is partnered at the moment with Lt. Flynn, and their penchant for bending the rules and their sometimes unorthodox methods are a source of amusement. |
