The scene opens with Lt. Flynn talking to a group. It is a support group. A man walks up to him and asks how everything works and talks to him. Lt. Flynn tells that alcoholism is tough and it is easy to quit. Lt. Flynn walks out and is beaten up by an unknown attacker. After a fight, Flynn shoots the guy. The man disappears. Flynn calls Captain Rayder. A moment later, Rayder comes and asks if he can describe the attacker. He tells that he can’t really. He passes out from the stab mark and loss of blood. Rayder calls for a hospital report on anyone coming in with a gunshot wound. Flynn walks up at the hospital and Chief Johnson and Detective Provenza are there. Flynn tells his story and Capt. Rayder comes in and tells that if Flynn cannot identify the attacker, it becomes Major Crime’s case. However, if he can, then it is Rayder’s case. Bobby Harris was the attacker and they look into his home. Sgt. Gabriel and Lt. Toau look at the money that was found in Bobby’s home and find out that they all belong to the old style of money.

Johnson goes home and talks to her husband Special Agent Fritz and tells him that she wants to go with him on his AA meetings. He thinks that is a good idea and tells that he would love it for her to come. However, the reason she wants to go is because of the fact that Flynn made a sketch of the guy from the AA meeting. He tells that he doesn’t want anything besides 5 minutes with her. They start to get “busy”, but Johnson stops after Fritz tells that she is in the running for Assistant Chief of Police. She realizes that is the reason why Rayder has been so nice to her. Johnson goes into work and Flynn walks in. She tells that Flynn needs to be home. He tells her that he is only there to make an ID. They start to go through all the individuals Flynn helped get locked up and one stands out the most. Rick Zuman, a business owner that scammed people out of money. Flynn tells that he got his bookkeeper to flip on his alibi. Also an informant for the FBI went missing. Johnson tells that they need to get Rick Zuman down to the station.
Rick gets into the station and tells that he knows his rights. Johnson asks if he knows of anyone who would have wanted Lt. Flynn murdered. He tells that he doesn’t have anything against Flynn and tells that his case was appealed because the investigation they lost a witness. He says that she found God and recanted her statement that she gave to make “amends” just like Flynn is making them too. Johnson stands up and grabs Rick’s face. She tells that she knows that Rick has looked into Flynn’s personal life and will not be taken lightly. She tells that he will be placed on solitary confinement. Johnson tells goes up to Capt. Radar and demands why she didn’t tell her about the investigation into Lt. Flynn and she tells that it is her duty to not inform anyone when there is an investigation. She tells that Flynn has a huge file and it has to be investigated. Johnson tells Flynn to go home so she can sort it out. She storms into Assistant Police Chief Pope’s office and demands why he didn’t inform her about Flynn’s investigation and he tells that he didn’t know about it either. Pope tells that they need to get on the witness that recanted her statement.

Commander Taylor and Detective Gabriel go to the home of Floria Stenzel. She answers the door and Gabriel and Jackson lie and tell her that there is a criminal in her neighborhood that is trying to silence all the witnesses to the Rick Zuman case. She tells that she recanted the statement and they tell that the person doesn’t care about that. She asks for the protection and Gabriel tells her to call him if she sees a man with a blue sweatshirt. They have Detective Sanchez dressed as the “criminal” and he circles the house. Floria is inside panicking. Sanchez scares her by looking at her face to face. She calls the police and it is enough to have Floria come into the station. Floria walks into the station and Johnson brings her in a room. She sees money on the table and Johnson tells that they found the money at her home. Floria tells that she is going back to her original statement. Johnson asks where she got the money from and she tells that it was from a man named Jeff. Johnson tells that she can’t help her if she doesn’t have Jeff’s name. She tells that she has Jeff’s number.
She calls the man up and tells him to meet her at a location. Lt. Flynn hangs around the surveillance video room to ID the man. Jeff walks up to the car and Johnson is inside. She tells that she knows about his little business and tells that if he gives her $100,000, then she will have Rick Zuman on trial and not press charges on him. She gives him bags and he leaves. The bags have tracers. Jeff goes to the secret hideout with the money in it and starts to pull out the money. Capt. Rayder is there and tells him to drop the money. Fritz is with her and he inspects the bills and makes sure that they are part of the federal money. Johnson goes back to see Rick Zuman and throws the money in his face and tells him that they found the stash. It turns out that Jeff had feelings for Rick and then pours the $400,000 on the table in front of him. He has been caught.

Later, Capt. Rayder congratulates Johnson and tells that Flynn’s job is secure and the investigation is over. Johnson asks why Rayder has been so nice to her and she tells that she wants to work closely with Johnson to see her in action. This way they can share in the success of all the cases solved and help each other out. She tells that it is a great idea. Fritz walks into the office and tells Johnson that new Chief Police Delk is already thinking it over. He tells that she is going to have to be ready if she is going to have a chance at all to accept it. She tells that she doesn’t know already, but the one thing that she does know is that she needs 5 more minutes.
