The scene opens with a woman calling out for her son, Eric. Glen, Eric’s father, talks to the proprietor of the Summer Camp where he was and she says that the class is voluntary and that they don’t take attendance. A boy named Kevin comes up and tells that his father is there for him and says that he is a LAPD Detective. Meanwhile, Captain Raydor is meeting with Chief Johnson. She tells that she is not going to record their interview because she wants it to be informal. Johnson agrees. Lt. Taou, Kevin’s dad, comes up and asks the proprietor if there were any issues that she knew of. She tells that there weren’t. He calls Sanchez to meet him there. Back at the station, Raydor asks if Johnson would want her lawyer and she tells that she doesn’t have any. Sanchez comes up and says that he went by Eric’s house and saw that the boyfriend, Mark, was there stretching. He says that Mark said that he wants to stay out of it and gave Sanchez recent pictures of Eric. Suddenly, Tina, Eric’s mother, runs across the street and says that she sees Eric’s bike. Sanchez tells her not to touch it. Glen says that he told her not to allow him to ride the bike and yells at her. Sanchez yells and tells him that is enough.

Back at the station, Johnson watches the video of Terrell Baylor and says that she took him home right where he wanted to be. She mumbles that it was a happy ending and Raydor tells her that she can’t say that. Johnson says that her division needs her and she tells that they are capable without her. Sanchez is in the helicopter looking for Eric. On the ground, Lt. Taou set up a staging area for the incident and Chief Pope comes up with Commander Taylor. Taou informs him what is going on and Kevin helps out with some information. Pope thanks him and asks Taou where they go from there. Suddenly, Sanchez finds Eric in a pool. They get to the house and pull his body out of the pool, but he is dead. They get back to the station and Johnson joins in on the investigation. Gabriel tells that the house that they found was abandoned. Kevin adds some information that there is a pool at the Summer Camp and that Eric swam really good. She thanks him and tells him that he can leave. Lt. Taou says that his wife will be there eventually to pick Kevin up. Taou says that he doesn’t know if Kevin is going to want to watch Johnson telling Glen that he is dead.
Johnson goes into where Glen is and he demands to know what they are doing to find his son. Johnson says that they are going to ask him question. Kevin is confused and asks why Johnson is asking the questions. Buzz tells that everyone is a suspect. Taou tells Kevin to go get his Calculus book and read another chapter. Johnson tells that Eric is dead. He tells that she is lying, but Johnson says that she wishes that it wasn’t true. Taou sees that Kevin is still there and he tells him that he can handle it. Taou says that he needs to do his Calculus. Johnson exits and tells that they need to get the grief counselor. Commander Taylor asks how he is to proceed to informing the press and she tells him to tell the truth. Pope comes up to Johnson and tells her to stop stalling with Raydor. She says that she will get it done as soon as she can. Johnson goes in to see Tina and says that she has a few questions. She tells that she shouldn’t have let Eric ride the bike. Taou tells Gabriel that he needs to make sure that Glen’s alibi checks out. Buzz asks where Glen is and they see that he is not in the room. At the same moment, Glen finds the room where Tina is talking to Johnson and he says that Eric is dead. The detectives take him out and Mark sees him. Glen kicks at him and Mark hits him. Taou slams Mark against the wall and Kevin sees it. He smiles with a sense of pride.

Johnson goes in to see Dr. Morales and he says that Eric wasn’t abused, but saw that he didn’t die from drowning. He says that Eric’s stomach had chocolate and a purple liquid laced with a substance. After searching Tina’s house, they found Vicadin and Soma, a muscle relaxer and a narcotic. They are Mark’s prescription. Sanchez says that they searched Mark’s place and found that there is a uniform from Las Vegas Police Department. Fritz says that Mark was a police officer for many years. After a domestic violence charge, he resigned. Johnson tells that Captain Raydor is getting on her nerves and Fritz says that she didn’t miss much. Johnson and Sanchez talk to Mark and he tells that the drugs are his, but he never gave them to Eric. He says that Glen and Tina were always fighting and that to Glen tried to tear them apart because he was always telling the courts that Mark and Tina were unfit to take care of Eric. He says that Tina denied his request for marriage.
Lt. Taou’s wife comes in and asks what Kevin is doing in the room watching the murder case. Kevin says that he wanted to be there and she tells him to get his stuff. Johnson overhears the conversation that Taou has with Kevin and Kevin says that he can’t be there always. Taou says that he can and he will. The next day, Johnson is still at the station and Raydor asks if she has been there all night. She says that she has and that they are still no where closer as to finding out Eric’s killer. Provenza and Flynn come in and tell that the divorce of Glen and Tina was horrible and that Tina got everything and Glen has to pay alimony for 12 years. Johnson goes in to see Tina and she asks to see her son. Tina says that she won’t marry Mark because Glen won’t have to pay alimony. She tells that for 12 years, Glen put her through everything. She tells that the bike that Glen gave Eric turned out wrong.

Johnson goes to the video room and watches Flynn continue the interview. Buzz switches over video footage of Glen buying a chocolate bar and purple sports drink, the same contents that were found in Eric’s stomach. Johnson says that they are probably going find that the house is under his bank. They say that the bike gave it away. Glen confesses and says that Johnson needs to tell Tina that it was him. They arrest him for the murder of Eric. Taou looks at Eric’s picture and Buzz tells that he got him. Taou says that he did and cries a little. Captain Raydor tells Johnson to go on a ride with her. Lt. Taou calls Kevin and says that he is going to let him get his driver’s license. Kevin gets excited and thanks him. The episode ends with Captain Raydor and Johnson going to the home of Terrell Baylor. Johnson sees a man ride his bike through the street and he recognizes her with a nod. The scene flashes through Johnson’s mind on how Terrell asks for her protection and she denied it. Raydor takes her around back and shows where Terrell was murdered. She says that they are going to get out of Federal Court, but Civil Court isn’t that good because a jury will vote against her. She asks what she needs to do and Raydor tells her to get her own lawyer.
